Directions to the reception on the program?

I'm getting married at a church and then our reception is a couple miles away. I'm working on my programs right now. On the very back cover of my program is blank. I was going to put " following the ceremony, please join us in continuing the celebration at..... "( and the address of the venue). Should i just include the address or do i put directions from the church to the reception venue? I don't want to have it all cluttered bc on my programs itself there is alot of writing. I typed out just the address and i like it but i don't know what etiquette says about it.

Re: Directions to the reception on the program?

  • I think you don't have to provide address/directions on the program if you provided them in the invite.  Though some people might apprciate it if they forgot to bring the invite with them.

  • Could you put that line about joining for the reception and then put in a map?  (Though I don't know how to or how hard/easy it would be to do)

  • I ordered the free postcards from Vistaprint and had directions listed on them (using the same background as our STDs from earlier).  They will be placed next to the programs.

  • I think it's really nice to do. One less thing for your guests to worry about.

My cousin didn't want a huge program, so she just had little direction cards that were passed out with the programs. It works really well.
  • I would worry that that comment would have people who may come to the church to see you fi get married nut weren't actually invited to the reception. I know there will be quite a few clients of mine my mother's lady friends who want to see me get married but are not actually invited.
