Getting in Shape

Help...

Ok so I'm new to this board. I am getting married in April and I have no will power!!!! I do good for a few weeks and then I'm eating crap again. This week my mom came into town to plan for the wedding and between tastings and eating out I feel like a BLIMP!!!!! I would like to start running but after working a 10 hour day exercise is the last thing I want to do. I don't need to loose that much weight but I would be happy if I was about 10lbs lighter.....I'm rambling now.....

  • The reality is that you have to just start doing it. If you can't exercise after work, wake up early and exercise beforehand so when you come home you can relax.

    Make the best food choices you can, and don't cut out anything all together. When you cut things out of your diet, that's when you set yourself up for failure. If you know you can have a treat then you're not going to go overboard and eat a whole cake.

    Read the stickied thread at the top, it has lots of good advice in it for people new to GIS!

  • Ditto PP. you just have to do it. Did I want to get up at 445 and go to the gym after a 14 hour workday yesterday and 4 hours of sleep? No. But I know that if I didn't, I would be mad about it later. Also, it gets easier not only as you start seeing results, but it becomes a different lifestyle. You just have to be aware of the consequences to not sticking with it and from there you have a choice. It took me three times to really stick with it, I don't think that's uncommon.
