Louisiana-New Orleans

Programs, welcome sheet, new orleans wedding traditions

Hi fellow NOLA brides!

Getting pretty close to my wedding date, and still have some small details to take care of....

Does anyone have a template for a program or a little welcome sheet for guests? Most of our guests are out of town, and we wanted to explain some of the fabulous New Orleans wedding traditions..

We are also getting married during FQFest, so we want to include details in our welcome sheet- anyone else getting married that weekend?

Finally, we could really use recommendations for a nice salon Uptown for nails- we are treating the BMs!

Thanks!!

email me at janel.cohen@gmail.com and I will send you my welcome sheet. no idea on the nails - but I would definiately recommend using shellac by CND! they last for 2 weeks - amazing! I would have saved so much time before my wedding if I had used them. I literally wanted to get my nails done everyday so they would still look fresh! I have a program samples too, but in pdf

For New Orleans info, brochures, maps and things, you could try contacting New Orleans CVB.  I have not done so yet, but I heard they'll give free maps, etc.  I did contact them a while back for info about hotel blocks, and they sent me a package that also had info on New Orleans wedding traditions, like the cake pulls, etc. so they might be able to help you with that.

I'm planning to do a sort of DIY welcome packet...what you could do is take info from the FQF website and just cut and paste into a word doc.  Then just change it to a nice font and buy some like colored paper or cardstock to print it on.  That is what I will be doing, exceptt we won't have FQF info, but we will have things like "Lauren & Austin's Favorite Spots to..." eat, drink, sightsee, etc.  I'm planning to have a short welcome, possibly a weekend itinerary, and a page or so of places we recommend, and maybe another page with contact info for different tours like FQ walking tours, etc.  Maybe overkill, but almost all of our guests are OOT as well and we really want people to see the best things in the city and have an awesome time!

Not in uptown but I'm taking my girls to La Riviera Spa in Metarie. If you use at least $300 worth of services (not hard since I have 5 BMs, plus me, my mom, FMIL, and FStepMIL), they'll pick you up/drop you off in a limo and provide champagne or mimosas. You can also bring in food.

I don't think they have the shellac though - not sure.

I'm also getting married French Quarter Fest weekend... IN the FQ.
I am hoping that closer to the date there will be brochures that list more about the event. I seem to remember the Fest releases something like that, and it would be nice to include in the welcome bag for guests.

    Enjoy!
