Have you been to a wedding with a photobooth?

I was thinking of getting a photobooth for our wedding. I have never been to a wedding where there was one but heard they are fun! Then someone else said they are fun but take away fron people dancing. Has anyone been to a wedding with a photobooth and felt it took away from the dancing or made the wedding more fun?

Re: Have you been to a wedding with a photobooth?

  • We had a photobooth and all of our guests had a great time. It certainly did not take away from the dancing. Realistically people will dance to the songs they like and won't dance to the ones they don't like. They will take breaks when they are tired. This will happen regardless of a photobooth. I had an awesome band and the dance floor was packed all night and the photobooth did not change that.

Almost every single guest got in at least once. I think our dads were the only exception. This included my 80+ year old grandparents and 90+ year old great Aunts. My husband was not all about the idea at first but I used my veto to overrule him and now he says that some of his favorite pictures from the night are from the photobooth!

Also, the photobooth strips were the favor and several guests told me after that they have never taken a favor from a wedding but loved being able to take the photobooth strip.

PS - I rented the photbooth from J-Dogs and I do not recommend them.

  • My friend had one and I was eh about it till the reception started.. It was great! EVERYONE was in there including people using walkers. I am having one at mine based on how much fun hers was!
  • I'm renting one from Shutterbooth. I've never heard a bad thing about someone who had a photobooth or went to a wedding that had one.

  • I 2nd shutterbooth! I went to a wedding with them and everyone had a blast - 2 strips were printed out, you kept one and the other went into a guestbook where you could write your message for the couple. The best part was getting the link from the bride and groom after the wedding to the website - all of the pictures were uploaded on the company website (you could purchase extra copies from them) but you were able to see everyones photos from the night and they were hilarious!! People of all ages were obviously having a great time!
  • Yeah.  They're fun.  But EXPENSIVE!
