Nevada-Las Vegas

**Natrasha**

Hi! Weren't you the one who said that you always book your car rentals through Priceline and just keep doing it until they accept the price you put in? If so, what kind of rental car do you get? I'm trying to get a full size rental, and would like to pay $160 max incl. taxes and fees, for the 5 days we are there, the last price I put in was $21 per day, but they didn't accept it, boo. So just wondering how cheap you usually get them for depending what size car you get...?

That was me! I've done it for our last two trips to Vegas. I got an economy car for (I think) $11/day the first time. Oh actually, this last trip, cars were just REALLY cheap when I went to try to bid on it (this was about 2 weeks before the trip) and I got a standard size for $14 through enterprise (I didn't bid, I just booked.)

Those prices are PRE-tax, fees, etc.

The second time, I was bidding up to $15 once a week or so for a month or two. But then suddenly prices just dropped.

Now... I have always traveled at off times, and during the week (our last visit was Wed-Sat, in November). So things were definitely in my favor.

Basically, it's a gamble. Your bid probably won't get accepted this far out if you're low-balling. I've experienced a drop in prices/bid being accepted 2-3 weeks before my trip. So if you're willing to wait and maybe stress out, you could get a really good deal. But of course, there's always a chance that it won't happen, and prices could go up.

I was planning on waiting until mid-september to try to Priceline our vehicle, but I got $150 in rewards on a new credit card, and I'm cashing them in for an Avis gift certificate.

Thanks for the info!  Yeah not sure what I'll do, I kind of want it done with and out of the way so I may just up my bid to like $24 a day, their suggested price of taking it was $25, so will probably have to go close to that for them to take it.  We shall see.

Also, thanks for the limo info, I emailed Earth Limos this morning, mentioned your name, so hopefully they'll come back with decent prices, fingers crossed!

    Another thing!

Not all the rental companies are included in the name-your-own-price option. It's only the big names. So Avis might not accept your bid, but Fox might have a lower rate than your bid!

What dates are you looking at? I just looked at 10/18-10/23 and Fox and Advantage have rates around $16-19 per day. But they're not involved in the bidding section!

I think we were writing at the same time:)  We need it for 10/19 to 10/23...was that a full size car rate?  I will look right now myself too!  Thanks for looking, and let me know if you end up finding anything good, gracias!!

I just booked a rental on Fox for $154.67!  Perfecto, and if a coupon code comes out for our dates, I can cancel and re-book for no charge.  Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure that's who I used when I went for my scouting trip.

Much appreciated on the info!  Otherwise, I would have just went with the Priceline ones.

Limo - Not such good luck on Earth, for what we need, they are $843 more than Bell, ouch.  So yeah I think we may just have to chance it and go with Bell.  I may check out a few others too here though.  Can't win em all I guess:)

Wow!! Yeah, I would "risk" it with Bell as well for that. I say "risk" because odds are way in your favor that everything will go smoothly.

I'm so glad the car rental part worked out in your favor however! YAY! I found that whoever I booked with had the longest lines when checking in, but I'm okay with waiting for 20 minutes if it means I saved $100+ on a car!
