Engagement Photo Shoot Locations

Does any one know of good Austin spots for an engagement photo session? I've heard of Mayfield Park, Zilker Botanical Gardens and Mt. Bonnell. Are there any others?

    We took ours at UT this week, but we chose UT because we met there freshmen year.It was insanely hot!

    Our photographer recommended the City of Austin power plant, which looked cool from photos I saw. Definitely a little different, but very neat. I also looked into South Congress and downtown. It just depends on your style.

    We just did ours this past weekend. Our photographers picked the spots for us, we just told them we wanted pictures in urban settings and very Austin-y (since we love Austin). We went around South Congress, 6th street and an area over by 5th and Congress. And our pictures look amazing! I think a lot of it just depends on your personalities and what you want....

    we took ours at our favorite restaurant (maudie's), UT, the Austin mural on s. 1st and s. congress. it definitely depends on what you are looking for. we wanted mostly urban shots of the places we hang out and that's what we got. if you want more nature type shots you should definitely check out the places you mentioned.

    We took our engagements behind an art studio in East Austin and in a field across from Del Valley high school. Our pictures are on our photogs website - dearcharliphotography.com/index.php/uncategorized/katie-justin/

    The Capitol building is also a popular one, along with Laguna Gloria (gotta pay, though) and some of the historic mansions and schools around downtown (some of them are private property, though, so be careful.  : )  Wild Basin and out on Lake Travis/Lake Austin/Mt. Bonnell, as well.

    Thanks for the tips everyone. I think we are definitely going with Mayfield Park and Mt. Bonnell. I had totally forgotten about Wild Basin. Maybe head on out to Loop 360 Bridge and get that backdrop at sunset. Thanks again for all the ideas. Smile
