Martha's Vineyard Photographer?

Hi!
I'm going crazy trying to settle on a high quality, and yet somewhat reasonable photographer to photograph my Edgartown wedding this September! I'm looking for someone creative but who will also get those crucial group/family shots, someone who will give direction and someone who is easy/fun to work with...
So far, I've narrowed it down to the following after checking availability and price - does anyone have an opinion on any of them - good or bad?

Thank you!!

Randi Baird (MV based)
David Welch (MV based)
Bob Gothard (Photos on the Vineyard)
Tim Correira  (based out of Somerville)
Stephen Savard (based out of PRovidence, RI)

My wedding isn't until June 12, but I'm going to be using Tim Correira. He was very personable, had a great looking portfolio & very competitive prices. We were very impressed!

I would suggest choosing a photographer from the island therefore if there are weather problems and the boats don't run your photographer is guaranteed to be there.

What other MV vendors are you using Erinn?

I LOVED Randi. I used her for my wedding photography and she was an absolute doll to work with. You can click the link in my singnature below for more pictures.

The other vendors I'm using so far are Sultans of Swing, St Elizabeth's for the ceremony (organist and soloist are TBD), Atria for the reception, rehearsal dinner will be at fiance's parent's rental home - caterer & music TBD but using Big Sky Tents for tenting and plates, etc; Martha's Vineyard Sightseeing for an island tour and the Whaling Church/Espresso Love for the farewell brunch.  Might be using Doris Clark of MV Event Day Coordination for logistics day-of.  Not sure of a florist or a make-up/hair person yet!  Lots still to figure out (:

I am thinking of using Sultan's of Swings too!

I would definitely book your vendors ASAP because May to September is busy busy on MV as far as weddings go.

I'm planning to use Randi, as well, although our wedding isn't until Fall 2012!  Also, we're strongly considering Krishana Collins as our florist.  Her work is beautiful!

We're also thinking about Atria as an option, but are trying to figure out their logistics.  Do you know if they have seated dinner and dancing all in one room indoors?

Hi - Fall 2012...Atria is a great choice if you want your wedding in Edgartown.  In terms of the seating, it depends on the size of your wedding- inside they can seat up to 140 but everyone will be in different rooms...and then they would do dancing downstairs in the really cool brick cellar bar area or outside in their tent (but band music has to end at 8:30, dj can go to 11)...in that scenario you'd do the cocktail hour outside in the garden.  The second option is to have people outside - they have a tented area and then you'd have to rent a second tent (if you had more than 80 people - otherwise you could just use their tent)...outside they can fit up to 150-160 with the two tents - then you would do the dancing inside in the main dining room....they would clear out all the tables and you can rent a dance floor. the dining room is 26 X 26. My mom and I went to look at Atria a few weeks ago - it was really pretty...very quaint, tastefully decorated and in a great location. Greer the owner/manager has been very helpful - her husband is the chef. The good thing about Atria versus other places is that you can have dancing inside until 11:30 pm!  Everywhere else in Edgartown makes you end so much earlier - even the Harborview cuts you off at 10 pm.   We have 160+ people  definitely coming which is making me a little nervous as it is a smaller venue for a bigger wedding - I think it is probably perfect for a wedding that is 100-120.

    Erinn!
I'm getting married on the island in Oct and reception etc is at Atria. Using Joe Mikos as my photgrapher, he costs a small fortune but I have heard such amazing things about him! Photos where the one thing I didn't want to scimp out on. We should swap vendors ideas since we are both using Atria and around the same time of year. I promised myself I wouldn't stress over the wedding and would have fun with it but since its 1:00am and I am still plugging away ont he computer trying to figure out rehearsal diinner options and whether all out of town guests should be coming etc clearly thats out the window!

Are you guys doing dancing inside of Atria... thats the only thing I am worried about to be honest. We will prob only have 120 people and it seems like it might get cramped inside!

Are you guys doing a farewell brunch?

Videographer?? I wasn't thinking I would want one but some people have told me I will regret not having the video memory... the ones I have found so far seem to be so expensive and since I'm already spending a lot on the photgrpahy I don't want to go to crazy!

Do you have a florist? If not Louise Sweet is AMAZING! She is so nice and fun to work with and her work is to die for! She is one of those people you can tell truly cares! I can't wait to see her flowers for our big day.

    Would love to hear details!

We just used Scott and Lisa Kretschmann for our wedding on the island. They are INCREDIBLE! They're based out of NY but have a place on the island so they don't charge any travel fees or tax! http://www.scottkretschmann.com

    Hi EMily -
I just sent you a private message with more vendor and wedding info...
Look forward to hearing back from you!
For anyone looking for a videographer anywhere in MA, I recommend Richard Osso - my sister used him and he's great and very reasoanble.

I completely agree with this. You will not be disappointed.

Also, I got married in October and we actually rented out the Sand Bar and Grille in OB for our rehearsal dinner. It was off season (they shut down for the winter) so they were pysched to open up for a private party. The food was delicious and for 60 people we only spent about $4,500.00 with an open bar.
