Hair help.

MY hair dresser can only get me in at 930. Ceremony is at  5. Is this just WAY too early to get my hair done? She says its not, but im having doubts.  .

do you know what style your going with? all up, half up, all down ? i'm a stylist and i think if your going all up you will be fine. if you are leaving some down i would be worried of some curls getting loose and i'm sure you won't want to be touching up your hair last minute.

Your wedding isn't till the end of July and hair dresser is booked up already? Wow. I would not be happy with my hair being done that early. I guess you have to ask yourself how attached you are to this hair dresser. If it doesn't make a difference find another one. There are hundreds in the metro detroit area.

I'm getting my hair done at 10am and my ceremony is at 4:30pm. With everything else, makeup, eating lunch, getting dressed, pics before the ceremony, that  was the time I picked that works in my timeline. I don't think it's too early.

My hair appointment is at 8 am (wedding at 1 pm) so 5 hours, I'd say that's a bit earlier than necessary but depending on the style and your hair it could be ok.

Personally, I'd look around for another stylist to see if I can get in a little later, mostly to sleep in!

It seems that if you do have enough time , you could look around and do a trial run with a new stylist - It's not like this is a regular cut - its your wedding! GL! I'd want to sleep in too!

if you trust her that much with your hair i say just have her do it. It's going to all be up and if she pins it well it will hold up well. If it were me i'd be awake early anyway from excitment !!!  good luck

Who is doing your hair, Danielle?  If you need a recommendation, my hair stylist is in Clio and she is pretty darn awesome!

As for me, my hair appointment was at 10am and my ceremony was at 4pm.  We left the salon around 11am, got lunch, makeup was at noon, and pictures started at 2pm.  I didn't have any problems with my hair falling down. :)

From what I've seen at my hairdresser's when wedding parties come in, the amount of hairspray they use could hold your hair in place in gale force winds for 10 hrs!

I'm sure it will be fine.

Her name is Jeanette, she works at Sommerset Day Spa and Salon over on Miller Rd. I was also thinking about either having them or MAC to my make up.

Hmmm...if you like the way they do makeup, I'd use them.  I tried to use MAC for my makeup.  They gave me the run around and never said if anyone would actually be available to do my makeup for me.  I ended up hiring Deux Adore 6 days (no lie!) before my wedding...and didn't regret that decision for a second!

I've never gone in Sommerset Salon before.  My SIL's mom got me a $50 certificate though so I'm sure I'll be checking it out soon. :)  Any recommendations?  I have a regular manicurist so I don't need services for that.

    Taryn,
Ive never seen anyone but Jeanette there lol Ive only ever gotten my hair done there, I  followed her over to there when she left Regis.
I've never heard anything about their makeup, but I do know they do airbrushing, and its $50. MAC also wants me to purchase $50 worth of merch from them if they do my makeup. . i dunno if i really need any more makeup! lol How much does  Deux Adore charge? would they come to me or do i have to go to them?

Deux Adore will travel to you.  I know she (Jen) does airbrushing now...I think it's $70 or $75...I don't remember exactly how much.  I paid a little more than that because there was a travel charge for her to come to Frankenmuth for my wedding.  It was seriously worth it though...my makeup looked A.M.A.Z.I.N.G (even w/o having a trial run)!

At MAC, they ask that you buy $50 worth of product, but that's if you get your makeup done there.  If you have one of the artists come to you, it's considered "personal" time and she can charge you whatever she wants.  It truly depends on if you want to go to Macy's to get your makeup done or have someone come to you.

It sounds like Sommerset is a good option for makeup if you like how they do it. :)
