How did you know it was the right DJ?

Having trouble with DJ selection, I am not sure how to know if they are the right fit. I have reached out to Jason at Music Mixers, All 4 You, Rythm Productions and Engagments. I need to set-up a few more appointments. I think Music Mixers is the best priced on the list so far. I don't want to spend much more than 1000 but want everyone on the dance floor and no cheeseyness. How did you select your DJs and know they were right for you?

Thanks for your help! I have been to some weddings with some scary DJs and know it is an important decision.

We interviewed quite a few DJs and finally we just knew which was going to work best for us.  We are working with All 4 You and they have been great so far.  We attended their Winter Showcase and everyone had a great time with them as well.  I think they are in your price range too.

I met with All4you and Rythm productions. I personally loved both of them and after meeting with them felt that I could trust them to do a professional job. Glen and Anne ended up being booked for my date so I just ended up booking John over at RP. Both DJs get rave reviews on these boards so you would be safe with either. Actually, engagements gets awesome reviews as well. I guess you should just go with the DJ who you felt most comfortable with. I personally got the sense from John that he would keep people on the dance floor all night while not playing any of that traditional cheesy wedding stuff. In fact if you actually want that stuff I think you would have to beg him to play it because he hates it just as much as I do.

Victor (from Party Time) was the second DJ we met with (Engagements was the first). While Larry was nice and had years of experience, Victor blew us away with his technical skills, intensity, sense of humor and personality. We knew Victor was highly rec'd before we met him, but having a 2 hour conversation about life, weddings, music and how he runs the show really sealed the deal. Felt like he was a long-time friend. We walked out knowing he was the one. He was the most expensive but it's worth it to us to spend that kind of money on a DJ (& Emcee of the night). We also want our guests on the dance floor all night and without a doubt they will be :-)

You have to go with your gut.

    HTH!

I was a pretty easy going bride & booked the only venue, florist, photog & video I met with.  For DJ, we met with 4 different companies - Larry from Engagements, Alan from Moondance, Lukes DJ & All 4 You.

We ended up choosing All 4 You immediately once we finally met them.  We just didn't click with Alan &, Luke was great but his packages didn't include much so although they looked reasonable, you had to add a lot of "extras" and Larry was a bit out of our price range, although we really liked him!

Anne & Glen were wonderful to work with & kept our dance floor packed the ENTIRE night!  I love that they work together - Anne keeps everything in order & everyone on time - she communicated with all of our other vendors to make sure everyone knew where to be - it was great!  Glen made sure the dance floor was filled & everyone was having a great time!  I highly recommend them!

We also picked All 4 you.  They were the first and only DJ we met with.

After meeting with SEVERAL DJ's (my husband is a DJ so was very particular) we went with All 4 You!

We choose Anthony Crocenzi based on a few friends recommendations and the raves from the Biltmore.  He's been great to work with so far.

We are also going with All 4 You!  We talked to several DJ's, but only met Anne and Glenn.  We spent over an hour with them and they were amazing!  Can't wait to work with them!

I picked Alan from Moondance.  He was inexpensive and I wanted something very simple.  I basically just wanted someone to play music and not do a lot of talking.  I was totally against the cheese factor.  He did a great job.  Just my opinion.
