Back from wedding and honeymoon

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone on this board. I got so much great advice here along with some great items for my ceremony.
For those that are getting married and are fretting over little things and stressing over it…just relax….because those little things do not matter. What matters is your new husband and the family and friends around you.

The day before my wedding, while me, my husband and his mom was meeting with the priest….I received a text from my mother telling me that my grandfather passed away. He had leukemia and was doing fantastic until Thursday, when he was rushed to the hospital. I was actually supposed to go visit him on Friday after the rehearsal dinner.

So the rehearsal was cancelled and only my parents and brother were present from my side of the family at the rehearsal dinner. Nothing else mattered after that. All of the stress from worrying if my flowers looked right, if the venue was perfect, if my centerpieces came all right….nothing mattered.  What mattered was my family, friends, and of course my husband.

I don’t want to write this as a downer, but just so that people take the time to reflect and appreciate what they have around them and real reasons behind a wedding itself. Life is too short to fret about the little things.

Thank you all for your kind words.

As sad as the situation seemed, if it was not for my wedding, all of my aunts, uncles, and cousins from all over the US and Canada, would not have been able to see him one last time.
