DIY Invitations

Ladies,
I need some help on my invitations.  I am attempting to do them myself saves mega dollars! But i was wondering first of all whats the best program to use for invitations and also any advice or tips on how to make them look the best? I am getting the invitations at Michaels.  Colors for inviations are chocolate and cream.
PS-Michaels has a coupon floating around 50% off!!
Thank you in advance!!

Are you getting a box kit from Michaels or are you totally and completely making them from scratch?  The box kits always include a website you can go to that has a template download for your box kit.  It is usually in microsoft word.  You can change around how  you want things to look.  I really like the edwardian font for invitations.  I haven't tried to print any myself yet so I can't help you on the printing side but you can ask this question on the paper and more board under wedding boards and I'm sure they can give you tons of advice

I didn't like any of the kits so I just got regular invites and dressed them up. I haven't figured out how to use Word for anything other than writing documents so I used Publisher.

I have a few more pictures and the list of the stuff I bought on my website.

I bought my invitations at Wal-Mart on Clearance for $15.00per 25...then I tried to print them myself....better off leaving for the pros. I took mine to a local printer shop and 100 of each.... invitations, RSVP, reception, round circle with monogramand return envelopes was $75...to me well forth it...but maybe you'll have better luck than we did.
