Cat food?!

Someone recently told me that her wedding planner put opened cans of catfood in a perimeter around her reception site in order to draw yellowjackets away from the food.
Has anyone heard of this, or is she high on glue?

From what I am reading about yellow jackets, it could work. I read that yellow jackets are attracted to protiens like lunchmeat or canned catfood. Although it is generally used to lure them and their is an actual trap.

Be aware though...canned cat food stinks. And cat food sitting out in the sun stinks worse.

Right?!  I want people to remember our wedding, but not for the delicious aroma of seafood medley.
