I woke up last Thursday morning and my dog Cooper couldn't walk on his back legs. Took him straight to the vet and they put him on steroids, in hopes that it was just a torn muscle. He's gotten somewhat better but I called my vet again today and he has a feeling it has something to do with the discs in his spine, and referred me to a neurologist. I have a consult appointment tomorrow for him there, and he'll probably have to have an MRI. If its Intervertebral disc disease he'll need surgery. I am so worried, Cooper is like my baby, and if something happens to him I am gonna be a WRECK.

Oh, I hope everything turns out OK with Cooper! It's amazing how these little guys become like our children. I am contanstly worrying about our dog and he's only a year old!

Thanks everyone. Its been a long day already and its only 2:15. FI and I are fighting now because of this. Hes been fine with it until today when all the guys at work told him an MRI cost 4-5,000 dollars. All along he hasn't said much because we would spend the money if it was his dog. But he kind of flipped out when people were telling him how much it would cost. I called and it won't cost that much just for the MRI, probably about 1,500 dollars. From what I've researched online, dogs have a good prognosis out of this if it is caught early enough. Which I think it has, I'll have to see what the neurologist says. If there is a really good chance of making him better, I'm determined to do it. I'll find a second job if I have to. Woo that turned out longer then I thought, thanks for letting me vent and for the vibes ladies!
