Looking for a DJ!

Hey! Have any of you had/been to weddings in the Boston area lately that had really good DJ's? I'm looking for one for my October wedding who doesn't do lots of horrible bar/bat mitzvah-ish games and won't make icky cringe-worthy comments about my fiance and my *evening activities*. Thanks!!

  • We used Greg from Curtis Knight Entertainment for our wedding in December, and he was awesome.  No cheesy music, no creepy comments.  I would highly recommend him!

  • We used Rick Bellanti of Bell-Aire Music.  No games, no comments... just emceeing what you'd like and playing music.
  • We used John Cristoferi out of Brockton.  He was great.  totally cheese free.
  • We used John Dudley. He was absolutely fantastic! No cheese whatsoever, very reasonable rates for Boston (we thought), personable but definitely didn't spend a ton of time on the mic talking/cheesing it up, and extrememly thorough in regards to our requests/must play list. We had a song request line on our rsvps, and I sent him the list about a week before, and he played almost every one if not all of them. We can't say enough how great he was to us
  • We are using White Label Wedding Djs (www.whitelabelweddingdjs.com).  I was feeling the exact same thing as you and they definitely fit the bill- they are young, have awesome taste in music, and super personable!

    Good luck :)
  • I have seen DJ Erik at several weddings. He is very affable and does a lovely job. He actually mixes music, which many wedding DJ's do not do.

  • We also used Greg from Curtis Knight.  Like PP said, no cheese and no creep factor.  Awesome DJ!

  • John Zucco!  He really listened to our request to stay off the microphone for the most part, followed my must play and do not play list, and kept people on the dance floor all night.  We loved him so much last year that he just did my sister's wedding this year.  He ended up staying an extra hour because people were still dancing.  Highly, highly recommend.
  • We are also going with DJ Rick Bellanti from Bell-Aire Music Productions.
He's so professional and his planning process with his Wedding Planner Book is fantastic. He's not cheesy at all and his reviews are all awesome! And he was under $1,000 for our 6 hour Wedding.
We found him through another blog here on the Knot. He even recommmended our JP and photographer. His website is www.bellairemusic.com Good-Luck!

We used him 3 years ago qand he was wonderful to work with. Really made our reception a great party, and played what we wanted to hear (not the typical reception playlist).
  • I would highly recommend the Music Cutter out of Bellingham, Joe DeWolfe. He is very reasonably priced and will really listen to what you want. He also offers uplighting and whatnot. Very professional.
  • I was a wedding planner for years and I recommend DJ MaShane http://www.djmashane.com. great guys and great prices.  I think the price is under $1000 for the basic setup, dj booth, dance floor lighting, etc.  I used them at my own wedding as well and used their video services since the price was unbeatable.

    Good luck.
