XP: Ideas for mother-son dance

My FMIL, FI and I were talking about song ideas and we were having trouble coming up with ideas. Then my FI turned to me and said "why not ask for ideas on the knot" haha He loves that I can get ideas from you ladies.

So, with that being said we need some ideas for this song. My FI does not like country so anything not country.

    I agree it depends on their relationship. I did a quick search and two that I like are Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynard and A Song for Mama by Boyz II Men. And yes, I know these are very different songs :)

    His mom is really young and fun. She is single and raised my FI on her own. Their relationship is really close being that they really only had each other growing up. If that helps.

    I know this isn't for everyhone and isn't fun and hip at all but my fiance is dancing to "sunrise, sunset" with his mom because it is the song that she danced with her father to at her own wedding.

    Other than that, if we were to pick something different it would be a bit more contemporary because fiance's mom is pretty young and def. acts it: (ha)
    i thought the suggestion for God only knows was cute
    And also, Rod Stewarts have I told you lately.
    We also considered Billy Joel- just the way you are.

    Has he checked with his mom to see if she has any ideas?

    i2012do: yeah he has checked with his mom. Like i said in my OP the three of us were talking about ideas and couldn't come up with anyhting.  But now I think we are leaning towards one of your ladies suggestions! :)
