lingerie shop recommendation

Hi ladies.  I am an editor at the knot and I'm working on a story about lingerie shops that I hope you can help with.  Can you recommend a lingerie shop that you like and tell me why you think it's good?  Do they do alterations, have a large selection for hard-to-fit sizes, etc.  Thank you so much!

I've been looking at Frederick's of Hollywood. I've been with other girlfriends who got married and seen the stuff they have in the store. I like that they have a wide variety of different types of lingerie. Corsets, teddies, bra & panty sets, etc. They always have really cute things and I find them to be reasonably priced. Hope that gives you something! :)

I agree,I have always had great service and help at Fredrick's.  I am very small in the chest and their stuff usually fits well.

To me, Victoria's Secret is still a great classic. You can get the help you need, shop online or in store, and find good quality pieces at a reasonable price. You know the shop is not going anywhere either. I have seen more lingerie shops leave malls but VS is always around. You leave feeling sexy and sophisticated after a purchase.

I found Frederick's of Hollywood to be reasonably priced  also but their stuff was so difficult to get on, I ended up feeling fat and awkward. I left in tears at the end of my first time actually trying on lingerie in there. I'm a medium sized girl and could not fit into anything that was normally my size. I was a medium in EVERY OTHER SHOP I went to, but there, everything was insanely tight and it was easy to feel self concious, which is exactly NOT how you want to feel preparing for your wedding night. But I do have to admit, they have really cute stuff there!

I haven't been to Fredrick's yet. But, I actually felt the same way therock did about Fredrick's after leaving VS. I went around the semi-annual sale time wanting to find some great deals and left wanting to cry. But, what can you do. I actually got a really cute babydoll at sears the other day. Depends on when you go, but department stores can have some nice stuff.

I agree with Brit, a lot of the stores are hit or miss and change seasonally.  Like one semianual sale at VS I found some great stuff that fit and the next time the same items I bought the last time didn't fit.  Department stores can have really good selections.  If you feel like dealing with a HUGE crowd, the VS outlet is pretty good.
