ideas for guests to enjoy at the wedding

I need help. I want to make it personal and give the guests something else to do?look at at the reception. I am asking for simple DIY ideas nothing that costs extra, please. I was thinking some engagment photos and possibly a photo timeline with some fun pictures clothespined on twine, we also have a digital frame I was considering using- but that is a ton of pictures. Any good ideas or ways to creatively display these? TIA

I've seen where they just do a table full of pics of the couple, in random frames, baby pics to current.  That is cute.  Another friend that had been w/ FI since Jr. High did a poster board w/ old pics, love notes, etc. that was super cute.  And, of coures, you could add family wedding photos.

    Poloroid guest book?

Most guests enjoy food, booze, dancing and chatting. If you've got that, you're covered. =)

One of my soon to be sister-in-laws FI was good at drawing and he did a comic strip sort of a thing. He drew out (in cartoonish/stick figure style) where they met and how their relationship progressed. It was super cute! It's kind of hard to explain. Or you could do like a flip book where you "flip" through to see the story line?!

Good luck. I'm sure you'll find/figure something out!!!!!

I didn't want to do a slide show (several of my friends did it, and if you like them go ahead, but I can't take more than 2min of it and people always make them long), so instead I had signs on each table.

On both sides it had a year, on one side were pictures of us growing up and on the other side were things that happened that year.  For example, we were both born in 1985, so then on the other side were pics of celebrities born that year, another had movie posters of golden globe winners that year etc (with a title so people knew what it was).  If you're interested, I could send you the list of all the things we used for the 'other side'.

I actually was at a wedding recently for a friend who was at my wedding and she and another friend both said they loved going around to the tables looking at the pics, especially when they found themselves!  I made sure to include pics of me with my friends because I know people like seeing that they are part of your life :)  That's actually advice I would give no matter what picture-type display you do!

Thanks girls! Keep the good ideas coming! I want to include pictures of us with our friends/guest but I might not have some of all of us. SInce FI and I have lived on the other side of the state for the last 5 years (since we met).

Should I do me and friends and him and friends or just do ones of us together with friends even if we do not have one of everyone?

I think you could mix: do some of you with friends/fam and him with friends/fam and some of you together with friends.

I agree with all of the above.  I think we're going to do the twine clothesline with pics of us growing up, and then together.  Someone on this board (I forget who, eek!) suggested I have my students draw pictures of what they think it will look like when I get married.  They are going to start drawing those today, and I am thinking of getting a bunch of picture frames from a thrift store & spray painting them all the same color, then displaying the kids' pics in them somewhere at the wedding.

Oh, also, we have a big grassy area, so we're going to have croquet & bocce ball set up for the guests to play too.  That wouldn't cost you anything if you already had them, or know someone who does...

For our table names we are doing wooden frames painted our wedding color that say the name of a place we have been together and then we are putting a picture of us in that place. We mainly used countries but for Italy we did Rome, Venice, Pisa you know since we had cool pictures there and we haven't been to 20+ different countries.

I am doing a story board/timeline like the one below of things we have done together and places we have gone together since we have traveled many places together. I am using scrapbook stickers though since I am terrible and drawing.

    I liked this below

we've asked all of our married guests to submit a picture to us of them on their wedding day. I'm going to print them out in black and white, matte them on black,a nd hang them by blue/green ribbon so all of our guests can see all of the married couples in our lives.

I meant pictures separately growing up (we didn't grow up together or anything, so all of the pictures until 2004 are of each of us with other people or alone etc).  So I had a pic of me in 2002 with two of my best friends in high school and then there was a pic of him in high school.  Then there are pictures of us together or with other people from the time we met - including pics of the day we got engaged.
