indecisive, HELP!

My wedding is going to be June 1, 2013 in Maryland. The ceremony and reception will be at the same location that has a little beach as well as a huge lawn and a beautiful white and marble almost victorian looking beach house. The ceremony will most likely be down toward the beach with the reception tented on the lawn. I can't decide on the colors i want! I am really torn between a pale yellow and navy blue which i think would look very nautical and put together for a spring evening wedding OR a pale yellow and some form of turquoise/aqua which i think would be very pretty since its beachy and outdoors as well as spring like. Also, My Fiance is an officer in the Coast Guard so i am worried about the yellow and aqua combo not being formal enough for the formality of his uniform/ his grooms men uniforms. Does that matter or am i over thinking it? Any thoughts?  Smile

    oooh both options sound pretty! what color were you thinking your bridesmaids would wear? they might have some input if you were wanting their dresses to be all pale yellow, since that might wash them out, lol. i don't think that either would be too formal or informal for your wedding though. maybe get some fabric and flower samples and lay them all out together and see the vibe you get from them. if the aqua color seems to clash or just not mesh with your fiance's uniform, then you'll know to pick a different shade or maybe go with the navy blue and pale yellow :)

    Since you mention your FI's uniform ... does it mean he has made the choice to wear it for the ceremony?  If so, I suggest you go with the navy rather than turquoise. 

    The setting sounds lovely.  I'm sure your wedding will be fabulous!

    Thanks so much! His uniform is all white with alot of gold on it so thats why i was leaning more toward the yellow and navy! As of right now i would be leaning toward navy bridesmaids dresses with yellow flowers possibly because like you said not everyone looks great in yellow!

    I'd say yellow and navy would be beautiful.  Especially since it would probably go better with your FI's uniform.  Also yes, the navy dresses would probably be a much better idea than yellow since not everyone likes to wear yellow or thinks they look good in it.

    Yellow and navy would match the fomality of his uniform.  Since my wedding had the bridesmaids in navy carrying yellow and blue flowers, I am partial to this color scheme.

    Definitely the navy and yellow - it's formal enough to go with your FI's uniform but perfect for the beach wedding...and def go with the navy bridesmaid dresses - dark colors hide more sins if they even need to be hidden a lot better than yellow ;)

    Military dress uniforms are as neutral as tuxedos, so you don't need to match the color of your bridesmaids to the color of his uniform.  Use any colors that you like.
