One of my favorite BMs and i don't know what to do

On of my bridesmaids has just completely fallen down on the job. And I don't mean the showing up and being at every affair gig. She's in a really demanding college program so all is forgiven when she has to miss something. But she never picked up her dress, so I have it, and it's waaaay too long and needs to be shortened, but of course I can't arrange for that and I haven't seen her in like a month! I'm already short a bridesmaid because one of their husbands got stationed overseas so I don't know what to do.

[QUOTE]In Response to One of my favorite BMs and i don't know what to do : Do you live close to your friend? Drive by her house and drop off her dress. Tell her it needs to be altered. Problem solved.

<div>This. Or ship it to her if you don't live nearby. It's her only responsibility to make sure she has the right dress and that it fits for the wedding.</div><div>
</div><div>ETA: And I know you're thinking, OMG, less than two months! But she's thinking, I've got two whole months, plenty of time. So remember the perspective.</div>

First, two months is plenty of time to get a dress hemmed.
Second, this is not your responsibility. Get the dress to your friend so she can take it to a seamstress or hem it herself.
One less thing for you to worry about : )

I agree with PP.  Call or text her saying that you know how busy she is but that you need her to get her dressed hemmed.  My shop told us not to worry about alterations until about 6 weeks until the wedding so you are still in a good time frame.  Don't badger her.  2 months doesn't sound like a lot of time to you because you also have a million other details going off in your head right now.  This is her one and only thing she has to worry about so 2 months probably sounds like a lot of time to her.

Thanks. You're all right. I'm probably just bugging out because I have so much else to do. It's not like she's fallen off the face of the earth, just been crazy busy. I feel a lot better!
