And I passed out.
{ETA: Not because of the price.} I remember asking if I could sit down for a minute, and then I woke up in mom's lap. And I left a nice handprint smear on the mirror on the way down.

I didn't eat breakfast, I had a Sprite to drink, and I let them pin it way too tight on the sides. I thought I could breathe. My body thought differently.
Anywho, the seamstress got some water and she had some Teddy Grahams in her lunch box, I got back up, they took the pins out, and we tried again. It felt much better the second time around.
So, ladies, EAT SOMETHING before your fitting. I'm almost glad that I passed out today, and we didn't find out it was too tight, you know, at the altar. Because that would have been on video. Oi.
Pictures are from after the passing out--the pin across the top is to remind them to backstitch that so it lays flat against my chest.

[QUOTE]I was thinking you passed out because of the price ;) Glad you're okay and glad it's all done. Thanks for the advice!

Ha! If we hadn't asked about a ballpark price when we made the appointment, I might have been picking mom up off the floor at the end. :)

[QUOTE]ahh i passed out too when my mom was working on my dress. i hadn't had really anything to drink either that day and she was taking a long time working on my hem so i couldn't really move my legs around. fortunately i was already in the process of taking it off and getting my shoes off so i didn't really fall too far. so i'm definitely downing the water on the day of. i'll go pee as many times as it takes as long as i don't pass out! ;)

That's when it happened to me, too! And I was purposefully paying attention to not locking my knees. I think if we had taken it off just with the sides pinned and not had it hemmed, I wouldn't have noticed the whole no oxygen thing. But pinning the hem took for-ev-er. Lots of water...and protein. At least we learned before the wedding!
