XP: Where are you getting your cake?

I was thinking Publix, but I am still looking for cheaper suggestions!  TIA

We are doing Red Velvet cupcakes and getting them from Ingles.  Their frosting is a cream cheese frosting that, for once with grocery bakeries, doesn't leave that greasy film and gross after taste.

we're having a family friend make cupcakes for us.

but i love publix cake, and it's going to be hard for you to find someone who can work with you on your very popular date. :/

We were going to use Publix for the cake until last weekend at the farmer's market in Canton we stumbled upon a lady selling cupcakes. We are actually using her (she runs a bakery out of her home) to do our cupcakes, favors, and the single cake for the top of the cupcake tower.

We're considering Publix or Cakes by Darcy... just depends on who gives us the best deal!

We're using Cakes by Darcy in Roswell.  Her cakes were super tasty and basically the same price as Publix.  Consider getting a smaller cake for cutting and serving sheet cake from the kitchen- depending on your bakery it will save you money and no one will know that they aren't eating the same cake you cut.

We are using For Goodness Cakes in Norcross.

Melanie and the staff are great!  The custom cakes are BEAUTIFUL works of art and it was only about $75 more than Publix - the flavors are out of this world!
