Seamstress and 2nd fitting question?

I am getting married next Friday the 17th...I have been to one fitting already, a couple of weeks ago.  I need to get back in this week sometime as I have lost more weight and since the first fitting, went and got a strapless bra...I am waiting to hear from her but is is possible to get my dress finished by next week? Im in a panic as I haven't heard from her yet..Has anyone gone in this close to the wedding day? I know I will probably have to have a final fitting probably next week too?

    You should call your seamstress.  But, it's probably possible.   I went to my first fitting 2 weeks ago, my second fitting isn't until August 29th, and My wedding is on September 8th.  She says that she will either do any touchups on the 29th while I wait, or I can come back the day before the wedding, if the alterations after the second fitting are significant.

    In theory, they can alter a dress in one day. It really just depends on their workload.

    You should be fine, but if you are like me and react to extreme stress by completely forgetting to eat, you should DEFINITELY keep white safety pins in your bridal emergency kit.

    If it weren't so close to your wedding, I would have also recommended a lace-up back for your dress instead of a zipper :/.  But the safety pins won't be noticed by anybody on the big day, and they'll be a life-saver if you've dropped yet more weight without meaning to.
