Sandals Questions

I have been dreaming of honeymooning at a Sandals resort for many years.  We are to be married in early July and are hoping to book soon.  My questions are related to the atmosphere.  We are potentially looking at Sandals Whitehouse.  We are not drinkers and do not want to be around a wild, drinking, party environment.  We are looking for peacefulness, beauty, beach and relaxation.  Any help or direction would be very much appreciated.  I am open to any and all suggestions.

Re: Sandals Questions

  • I sent you a PM!  Hope it helps!
  • I didnt find Sandals to be this big party place.  They had stuff to do everynight.  A block party, chocolate and champagne party, beach party, etc.  But it was all done by 10pm and was only at 1 part of the resort.  If you wanted to go, you could, but if you wanted to stay low key and hang out by yourselves, there were plenty of parts of the resort that were quiet.

During the day, some people were drinking at the bars at the pool, but mostly it was couples hanging out either in small groups or by themselves sipping on frozen drinks.

We found it to be that same way at all three we've been to.

I agree to this as well. It wasn't a big party place. We watched shows at night and had a few drinks, but it wasn't anything crazy.

  • Honestly the nightly (optional) entertainment was great since we spent a lot of time by ourselves, it was a great chance to talk to and meet other people.

  • We are going to Sandals Royal Carribean in Jamaica in June. We picked it because there's alot of things to do besides drinking (FI barely ever drinks). We are both really active and wanted a honeymoon with losts of things to do, especially water sports.
Oh and make sure you bring your marriage license or something that proves you were just married and they will give you the honeymoon package. It's sweet, rose petals on the bed and in the bath and a few other extras that are romantic. :)

  • We went to Sandals Grande Riviera and another couple shared with us that it was the most busy and partying Sandals they had been, too. Considering that, we didn't think it was too bad and only came across a few really drunk people during our 6 day stay.  But the place was huge and there is so much to do that it's easy to get away from if you want to. I don't think you can go wrong booking a vacation with them, they really have something for everyone.

  • Not sure about the other Sandals locations but at least in Antigua they have one specific restaurant that stays open late, does kareoke, live DJ, etc. and that place stayed pretty lively late into the night.  My wife and I spent most of the evenings there or at the casino (no craps unfortunately) next door that has an entrance directly from the resort grounds.  Other than that though, it was definitely not a big party atmosphere; much more on the relaxation and romance side.
