So BF's main Christmas gift arrived today, it's a nice keyboard... but I want it to be a surprise to him. Ol' boy is an expert at guessing gifts, so I don't want a keyboard shaped box under the tree, I want to somehow disguise it to look like something else! Any ideas?
Last Christmas I did a genius disguise for his teenage nephews... we bought them Gamestop giftcards, and I hid them in mini boxes of fruit roll ups. I wrapped the giftcard in plain white paper and tilted it in the box, then tucked fruit roll ups all around them. The boys tore into their gifts and had the funniest expressions on their faces when they saw fruit roll up boxes... they opened the boxes and saw fruit roll ups inside and were like "Oh... well... thanks?" It wasn't until one of the boys decided to eat a fruit roll up that he noticed the hidden gift. It was priceless to see their faces!
Edit: I guess I should clarify it's a computer keyboard. BF has geeked out over this particular type!

Re: Gift disguising
[QUOTE]My first thought was to hide the keyboard in a keyboard box--you know, a piano keyboard. Hehe.

This would be awesome, but I'm not sure how you would get one without buying a keyboard... Maybe a box of equivalent size to a piano keyboard to throw him off?

HAHA. Thank you for the idea! I have four young boy cousins. Last year I got them gamestop giftcards and a maze. You can find them online and you put the card in it and you have to do the maze to get the card out. They were a hit. I got them giftcards again this year (itunes) so I might just have to steal this idea!
[QUOTE]If it's something he really wants, I vote you put it in a super big box and hide it amongst a TON of peanuts. Mom did that for us sometimes, and it was completely awesome :)

This.
One year, I bought FI a watch or something (giftcard, I dont know) and I put it in about 6 boxes. Each box was individually wrapped.

You should! It's so fun to see their facial expressions. Plus they get a tasty snack to go along with it, haha!
You could hide the real wrapped keyboard in a closet or under his desk on Christmas morning- and the clues will lead him to it.
ETA: Lunar beat me to the suggestion :-p

This is what I was thinking!
[QUOTE]Or you can make him go on a scavenger hunt to find his gift....so under the tree you could put a REALLY ITTY box with the first clue in it...and he'll be like..."WTF? Did she get me cuff links?" You could hide the real wrapped keyboard in a closet or under his desk on Christmas morning- and the clues will lead him to it.

I did something similar for his birthday and he loved it! Except I got him a grill... sent him on a quest to find post it note clues around the house, last clue told him to meet me at the lake near the house. The grill was in the back of my hatchback wrapped in brown paper with a giant red bow.
I love surprises, so it bothers me when a gift is obvious!
[QUOTE]I would wrap up a similar gift under the tree and hide the real one somewhere else. I bought BF a guitar this year so wrapping it up under the tree would be REALLY obvious what I got him. I plan on going to a toy store, buying a little kid guitar and leaving that under the tree for him with a note telling him to go look in the paint storage room for his real gift. We is amazing at guessing what his gifts are so hopefully that will confuse him at least a little bit! Maybe buy a kids toy computer or something along those lines and do the same?

That's a good idea too, I even have a nasty old keyboard in the basement I could wrap up, haha.
