Can anyone recommend florists that are relatively new to the industry or someone independent? I am not looking to spend 1k on flowers, and all I need is to buy the flowers from a vendor. I am putting the bouquets and arrangements together myself a couple of days before the wedding.
Re: Flowers on a budget.
I totally understand that. We are spending about $1000 for our bouquets, corsages, a few centerpieces and such. It is sickening.
My mom worked in a flower shop years ago and I tried to talk her into doing it ourselves, but she slapped a big veto on that one and said she would rather pay for it than handle the stress.
You can try fiftyflowers.com and a few other wholesale companies online. There is also Southern Floral in houston. I am not 100% sure, but I don't think you have to be a wholesale buyer to purchase from them.
She is new to the business but interested in doing more weddings. It was, honestly, on of the the best decisions that I made. It is saved me a couple thousand dollars and it came out amazing. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks! Kim
Thnk you!
and I'll give you all her information. I'm sooo excited!
[QUOTE]I looked around at a few vendors and chose Sabrina from Always Floral in Spring, TX. She travels to just about anywhere in Houston. I haven't had my wedding yet so havent seen the final product but she's very reasonable and very creative :D

Thanks!
[QUOTE]I would go to the flower districts downtown and talk to all the individual shops. See what flowers will be in season, what the prices are like for off season, compare prices from shops, etc. Sam's does great wholesale flowers, also talk to your grocery store florist.

Hey Laura,
That was the first thing that popped into my mind, but I would have to bring my mom to speak spanish to most of the people I need to talk to! We are definitely going to check out Fannin Flowers and Gallery Flowers.
Thanks again!
