Programs for Church

How many is everyone doing if you are doing programs?  I feel like lots of people only come to the reception and not the church.  I was thinking of doing 50 programs but now I am thinking it may not be enough?? Should I do 75 or 100?  My total guests are 190  (lots of couples though) The packs of DIY programs come in packs of 50, so  I don't want to waste my money on them if we won't use them!

If you have 190 yesses, then I would make 150 programs. It is a small expense compared to everything else and I would be a little miffed as a guest if I showed up and there were no more programs available. FI and i share programs sometimes, but not all the time.

    Still here and still fabulous!

  • I bought enough paper to make about 150-175 for a "hopeful" acceptance of only 200. I would make sure you have more then not enough. If you're worried about distribution I would have people hand then out instead of them sitting in a basket. That way you can give 1 per family or 1 per couple and not 1 per person. If they're being handed out I share with my FI, if theyre in a basket we usually each grab one. Think of it like cocktail hour appetizers, people are likely to eat more if theyre plated on a table vs. being passed. Same concept. :)
  • Argh ok, looks like I will be printing more programs than I thought! Thanks for the input :)

  • Our guest list is 200 and I'm making 175 programs. I agree with kamarks about the appetizer statement, it's just like that. When I go to a wedding, I want my own program. I'm not very good about sharing things.

  • Haha I didn't think people really cared that much about the programs!  I guess I was wrong :)

  • We got our programs on clearance. The paper was only a penny a sheet so I got 250.  I figured we would make 1 per guest (about 150).

I think its also a boredom thing. When I get to a wedding and I'm just sitting waiting for the show to start or if the ceremony is really dragging I start paying a lot of attention to my program. And if boredom is the case for me I know FI will be even more bored and I don't want to have to fight him for a program lol
