When does your hotel release the block? Ours does a Month before. So far no one has booked besides one friend. I included that info with our invites. I just hope no one is caught by surprise due to the early date.

Our wedding is Oct 19 and they release the rooms Oct 1. I included that info on a card in the invitation and I made sure to tell as many people by word of mouth to book early since it is opening pheasant hunting season in SD!

So, I totally just had a blonde moment - I didn't even realize they release the rooms! Now I am going to get all paranoid :-/ Better check that out and see what my magic date is!

I'm pretty sure ours is 1 month ahead of time, so I may add that to our wedding website!

Wedding is on October 20 the hotel releases the room block on September 27. So about 3 weeks before.

Ours are released on Sept 15; the wedding is on Oct 19. So far only my family has reserved rooms. Hopefully our friends (the ones who really shouldn't be driving home) will get on it.

Our wedding is Oct 7 and our rooms were released Aug 31. Most people booked way ahead of time (and still haven't turned in the RSVP!) and some guests that I knew were planning on booking I reminded them a couple of days before the cut off.

Mine is being released September 22 and the wedding is October 13. I am surprised they are holding it that long because it is a HUGE football weekend (Texas vs. OU). We were lucky to get a block. I think only like 3 have reserved.

Ours was only being held a month AFTER I set up the block. Which happens to be a month before the wedding. Oct. 13th wedding...releasing Sep 14th!

That date is coming up way too soon.

Ours is released one month before the wedding but afterwards if they still have rooms available, they can get it at our special rate. I know FI's family has booked theirs as well as our OOT bridal party. Hopefully everyone necessary has!!

Ours release 1 month before which is Sept 13th, our hotel block is already full and so is the rest of the hotel, so I had to reserve rooms at another hotel 5 min away. That block isnt booked yet.
I'm hoping when rooms get released on Sept 13th for other weddings some will open up in the hotel that is affiliated with my venue and my guests can then book there instead of in the other hotel....

Ours is through a group of inns, so they had to book a bunch of specific rooms in our name, then when people call to book they switch it into their name. Since everything is originally in our names, we have to call and cancel any rooms still in our name a week before (which is their cancellation policy). So if we forgot, we're paying for any unused rooms! The date I told people to book by is a week before we have to cancel, so any last minute people have some buffer. A couple people have told me they booked their room, but not many, and half the guest list is from out of town.

I've soo been stressing about this as well. Mine is tomorrow, and only 6 of the 20 rooms have been book! I live in Vegas so I know they all have tons of options but do people really wait til the last minute to book their room? My dad tells me not to worry about it, it's not my problem. I've had the information on my website and that information on the save the date that I sent out in January so at this point I guess it's just out of my hands.

We have three hotels with room blocks (303 guests invited and about 75% from out of town).
All three release the rooms one month from the date.

Ours is a month before the wedding. I decided early on that I wasn't going to worry about my guests booking their rooms. I've reminded guests via email, FB, word-of-mouth, AND the wedding website several times that the blocked rooms expire a month before the wedding. If they don't get it in time, sorry about your luck! They are adults. . . they can handle it. I've got far too much to worry about where everyone is staying!
