Charlotte Ceremony Venue

Hi Ladies,

This is my first time posting, although I do read all the posts, I know, I should post more :). My FI and I are getting married in Charlotte at the Big Chill on September 10, 2011. If anyone has any reviews on The Big Chill, please feel free to share :) We are aiming for roughly 130 guests and I wanted to have both the ceremony and the reception in the same place. However, I feel that the ceremony room at the Big Chill might be too tight. So I was thinking about the Covenant Presbyterian Church which is right next to the reception venue. I wanted to see if anyone knew anything about the church, such as if you have to be members to be married there or what not. I grew up going to Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church but it would be about a 20/30 minute drive from there to the reception so I wanted to keep it close. If anyone has any advice or information, please share :)

    Hi Cary!

    I am actually getting married in the 16th of this month and our reception is at The Big Chill.  Tyler (their coordinator) is great to work with so far but I can give you a much better report after our wedding reception.  I can't help you with the ceremony information since we are getting married at St. Peter's uptown (I don't know any info about Covenant).  I do know that there was a bride on here who got married in April (maybe?) and she had both the ceremony and reception at the BC.  Feel free to PM me with any specific questions.  Good luck with the rest of your planning!

    If St. Peter's doesn't work out (I do love it!!), I went to a wedding at Cov. Presbyterian this summer. It is a beautiful sanctuary...don't know much more but thought I'd add!

    I'm geting married at The Big Chill as well and hvae the dilema of finding a ceremony location. I know you questioned Covenant in your prior post and probably have already found out by now that they don't take non-members (as this was also my first idea). I'm still searching for a church so if you find anything please let me know. I'm learning that alot of the churches require same denomination or some type of process.
