Did you watch I Survived last night?

Re: NOLA

  • No. There was so much on last night. Celebrity Apprentice, Mob Wives, Survivor. I think I was dizzy from all of the flipping. What did I miss?

  • Well, I just thought of you....

This woman stupidly accepted a ride from a stranger, who turned out to be a serial killer. He drove her out in the California desert and raped/attacked her. He put her in the trunk of his car. She prayed to God for the strength to survive and was able to free her arms (he had tied her arms up with twine).

She broke free and ran to the road, where she came up on a vehicle with an elderly couple. They sped away. Then she saw a truck, where the men ran out of the vehicle and loaded her up and took her away. They were Marines.

I told H, "NOLA would say, that is Jesus."

It's like that episode we talked about where the boys go hiking and get lost and the doctors find them.

  • You know it. People say, "Wasn't it so lucky that someone showed up just in time."

No, I don't believe in luck.

  • She said she survived because of God. I was all like, WHAT ABOUT THE MARINES!?!

The other lady featured was a single mom, stuck in a flooding house with her kid. A famiy friend SWAM TO HER HOUSE and helped get her and her kid to safety. She said she survived because she is a mom. I was all like, WHAT ABOUT THE DUDE WHO CAME AND SAVED YOU!?!?!

  • I believe God sent the Marines.

I'll give you an example. Last year I was walking out of the store and my phone rang. I should have waited until I got in the car, but no I started talking.

I was distracted and pushed the cart into the cart stall, hopped in my car and drove off. I stopped at the red light on the corner, and didn't see my purse. That's when I remembered that it was sitting in the cart.

I burned rubber driving back to where I left the cart, praying the entire way that my purse would still be in the cart. Nope, no purse.

You know that sick feeling you get when you lose your purse, yep I had it. Just when I was walking back to my car, the Holy Spirit put a thought in my head, "Go inside and see if someone turned it in." Of course I thought the chances were slim, but I asked the kid at customer service, and he said that a old lady just turned it in.

I asked what did she look like to thank her, and he told me white hair, and a blue dress. I walked down every aisle and I couldn't fine her. I even waited a few minutes to see if she would come to the check out, and nope.

I believe that God sends angels to watch over us, and you never know when you might encounter one. So, yes I believe that God and the power of the Holy Spirit can intervene in even the smallest situations.

  • Even if God sent the Marines, I think they still deserve an honorable mention ;)

  • Let's hope that cut that part out because they ran out of time.:)

I'm sure she thanked them at the time.
