Crate & Barrel Registry

Is anyone going to Crate & Barrels registry parties this month? I signed up for it and we're going this weekend. Are they helpful? We haven't registered anywhere yet. I was told they have "experts" there to help you decide what you should register for. It should be interesting. If anyone has registered yet, better yet at Crate & Barrel.. do you have any suggestions?

Thanks!! =]

I just went this weekend. I wouldn't say we got a lot of "expert" help, but then again we didn't ask for it. It was really nice that the store was only open to registering couples, which made it much less stressful and more enjoyable. They had little muffins and fruit, mimosas, coffee, and demonstrations with a chocolate fondue and a panini press, which was nice! Also, they have a lot of the knives out so you can try them before deciding. It was definitely fun and I really appreciated being able to debate silverware without random shoppers thinking we were crazy :)

Also they give you a little gift on your way out :) The only advice I could give was to take stock of what you need/want before you go because it can be overwhelming, but you can add or delete online after so it's not a big deal either way. Have fun!

We're going on Sunday to the one in Burlington!  I have heard they are a lot of fun, with snacks and mimosas and you get a gift!  Not sure about the "help", do you think you need it?  You might want to discuss with your FI before you go what type of stuff you want/need if you are worried it might be stressful.  We just figured it woudl be fun and since the store is closed to the public, less crazy than doing it any other day.  And we dig the free gift.  :)

I will certainly look forward to it! I'm happy to hear that is just for couples registering rather than the store being open for normal business. That would be insane! I think we have it narrowed down as to what we're looking for but not in great detail. I think we will look for more decorative things at Crate & Barrel and maybe new plates & such. In terms of appliances etc I think we're going to register at Target. Still deciding.. haha. I'm having way too much fun planning this wedding!

    Thanks ladies!! <3

We went this past weekend as well.  It was a lot of fun!  And what was most helpful was just being there and seeing everything.  We actually did receive some help while picking out the china and the silverware.  The salesperson helped us compare and contrast the place settings and also told us which ones were the most popular pairings.

I had a great time.  I would definitely recommend it.

We went to one about 2 weeks ago on boylston and it was great to get ideas. We "attended" one of the information sessions on bedding and it was ok. We were mostly looking at it and the girl came up to us and was like great you're here! But they talked about thread counts and what type of matterial you should look for, what holds up best in the wash, etc. I agree with everyone else, it was great to walk around with out a bunch of other people there to see what you like. I will probably go to another one once we're ready to register.

Also, I'm not sure what gift everyone else got, but we receive toasting flutes which we hate. They're stashed in my closet somewhere and I don't know what to do with them.

We're going to one this weekend at SSP.  I've been to one before with my MOH when she was registering.  I thought it was really fun and easy to get around since it's not open to the public, and less people to deal with.  And you can't beat a free gift :)

We went to parties at C&B and W&S last year, and they were both a lot of fun.  It's great to register in relative privacy as I like walking around and placing silverware up against plates and stuff.  As far as the "experts" go, it's all about what you need advice on.  I know DH chatted with the knife guy for a while.  We got heart shaped glass bowls as a gift from B&B and a cookbook as a gift from W&S.

I am interested in the one in Burlington.  Do I just call the store to register?  Not sure what to do.  Thanks :-)

Chelley:  just call the store and tell them you want to attend the registry event. It was really easy.

Jonchrissy;  oh, the flutes are ugly?  That';s what they are giving out at Burlington.  oh well!  Regift maybe?

I can't wait!  When do they do the ones at Williams Sonoma and Bed Bath and Beyond?

I love the Crate & Barrel registry events! We've been the past 2 weekends, mainly just for the snacks and drinks, but its also super fun! Each time we found more stuff we wanted to get. You can just call and RSVP or just show up :-)
