Where are the cascades?

Why has the cascade bouquet dissappeared? I have looked through all the bouquets on the "show me your boquet"  thread, and only saw 3 and they were smaller cascades.

    It's the trends.

More brides want to have nosegays or what I call the "Pagent" bouquet.  Where you have a few long stemed flowers instead of the cascades.  I would think a cascade would only be heavy to hold for the wedding.

Style trends are different now so you just don't see as many cascade bouquets as you use to.  IMO I am not a fan of the cascade bouquet...I prefer the large and tight cluster of flowers.  However if you like the cascade style go for it!

Thanks ladies, I thought it could be a trend that died, just didn't know the reasoning behind it and DD is having one.
DD has this lady(my age) that is helping her alot on her wedding, so today I asked if in fact it was this ladies idea or hers, and it's DD's which is good! Her reson for wanting one, is her dress is suposed to have a sash and she doesn't like it with a sash, so the bouquet will "hide" where the sash was supose to be as she will holds her cascading bouquet under her chest, and flows down to 10" above her knees. I was just mainly making sure this lady wasn't getting pushy and having "her" wedding after the responses here. Thanks again.

    i feel the same way.

i HATE the 'ball of flowers' look. (sorry!), and i'd rather have a small cascading bouquet. just enough to soften the look and go really well with an A-line dress.

    something like these:

Every photographer warns brides and BMs to hold their bouquets so the flowers are at the navel.  If you hold them under your chest, you have what I like to call, "flower boobs" in every one of your pictures.  If your daughter hates the sash so much, why doesn't she just have it removed?

Same here.  I've already told my florist that I want a bouquet that looks like it could have been picked out of the garden and not a ball of flowers on a stick.

You don't need a picture to decide what you want... go to a good florist and talk about ti!  You can figure out the size and scale to suit your dress and body type and get a custom look.

Thanks for the advice :) I called DD and told her about pictures and how they would look, she still is going with her length. "Well,  that's what I want mom"  don;t think she ment "flower boobs", but the length.

So I did my part, voiced my concerns gave other options and now I am done with the bouquet and it's length disscusion. :)  "Flower Boobs" it will be. lol

As for the sash, she isn't buying it, it didn't come with the dress and I personaly didn't think she needed a " long" cascade for her reason but I'm not the bride, just "mom" <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-undecided.gif" border="0" alt="Undecided" title="Undecided" />

I'm having a cascade bouquet as well.  I hate round bouquets and I like being different so even though it's an older trend, it's now more original than a boring round bouquet.

Ditto PPs on the photographer and bouquet.  If the photog is a pro, he will ask that you hold your bouquet at the navel and slightly angled towards the front (away from the body).  It looks nicer that way.  I always hate when brides walk down the aisle with their elbows bent so high the bouquet is almost at their chin.

They are back in the 1992 ... I had one (as did my bridesmaid) for my first wedding.  If you want one, though, most florists should be able to accommodate your request.    You can start looking up photos (google is your friend), take them with you to your appointment and then work on the look you really want.

    Good luck!

I also hate the ball look.  As elegant as Chelsea Clinton's wedding was, I thought her bouquet wasn't that great.

I'm going with a cascade.  While it evoked "1980s" (think Princess Diana) to some people, my florist is using modern fillers so the look isn't too outdated.

I am also going with a cascading bouquet.  Here is my inspiration picture.  Try googling  cascading bouquet under images, that's where I found this.
