    Favorite things - prices here aren't too bad compared to some bigger cities. Some places are very expensive still, but you can find a great price with an awesome vendor if you do your research. I am excited about having a fall wedding with all the amazing Michigan fall colors. I'm mostly happy to actually be in Lansing while planning the wedding. I moved to Ohio for a couple of years, and moved back last October. So that's definitely nice!

    Least favorite - there isn't as many choices for hair and makeup as you would find in someplace like Grand Rapids or the Detroit area. That's about the biggest thing I've noticed so far, mostly with makeup.

    What I love about planning a wedding in Lansing is using my favorite wedding and reception venues from growing up there.  I also love how friendly the vendors are and the amount of time they spend with you to discuss your plans, your goals for the event, and what your budget is.

    What I like least about planning a wedding in Lansing is the lack of variety or options for certain aspects of my wedding and reception.  It was difficult for us to find a good videographer, a cake bakery that can do what we're looking for, and I still haven't been successful in finding a local vendor who makes photo flip books.  I'm still struggling a bit with favors too, since there are only a couple of local chocolatiers and candy shops.  I have been able to find most of what I'm looking for, but there just haven't been tons of local options.

    Favorite:  I guess just planning an MSU wedding.  I am in love with the chapel and can't wait to get married there :)  And it's an excuse to come back to campus (not that FI and I really need one.   We tailgate every homegame)

    Least Favorite:  The distance and lack of vendors.  I live in the Detroit area and having to drive up to do errands is kind of a hassle.  I try to do some while I'm in the area for work :)  Also, it's kind of hard to hear all these great recs on the Detroit board and know that I am not going to be able to take advantage of them.

    Favorite - Costs of vendors and it's home!

    Least Favorite - I live in Metro Detroit and am not looking forward to even more travel only for wedding stuff.....maybe it is just the wedding planning that is my least favorite ;)
