FI just called his oldest sister a little bit ago, and her tone of voice during the 3 minute or less phone call went through me like a ice. It sounded like she was completely pissed off and annoyed that he called her. He hadn't talked to her since like August so I was just like why don't you call her and catch up. Ugh.. I hate when people are mean towards FI, I can handle when people are mean/rude towards me, but when you act that way towards FI it goes straight through me. My blood is boiling right now. Praying for the strength to calm down and let it go...

How is everyone elses night?

Why was she so hateful? Are they not very close or something? I'm sorry. I know I get upset when I know H is upset, so I completely understand where you're coming from...

My night was pretty good! I had to babysit tonight, but it was fun. Right now on DWTS, they're doing a song and dance to "42nd Street (42nd Street)/Cool(West Side Story)/" and some other song that I can't remember the name of, but the Broadway nerd in me is totally freaking out!!! 42nd Street is by far my favorite show that I was ever in. I had taken private tap lessons from age 4, and got the younger female lead in that show when I was 16 (without a doubt one of the best times in my life). I love tap dancing!!!!

I get upset when people are rude to FI too, it gets my blood pressure up! So sorry.

I am at work right now, obviously not working much lol. Only 3 more night shifts until I get to go back to being normal and sleep when the rest of the country sleeps. I'm also looking for a MUA. I'm really hoping to find one to do airbrush for the wedding and so far I've got $300+ quotes for just myself and my MOH. Frustrating.

I'm really pissed off.
I went to the DOL to get new tabs and switch the title of my car to my new name from my moms name using a POA I have in my current (old) name.
They tell me to go change my name first at the DMV
*goes to DMV*
They say, NOPE. "You have an enhanced Drivers License... Go to Social Security" (an EDL is a special deal for the northern states to get into Canada without needing a passport. Just makes life easier and is a true form of ID since I needed to show my ss card and birt cert. to get it)
*goes to social security*
"ok no problem you are all switched over, here's your receipt, it'll be here in a week!"
THANKS!
*goes home* .... *looks at receipt* ....
They edited my middle name.... It's a "common" middle name in the US, but it's spelled like it would be in Latvian (my heritage). Idk WHY THE HELL he changed my middle name spelling.. but I'm not pleased. I told him that it was all good and fine.
*goes back to ss*
"No no no, that's the middle name we have in our records" No it's not my name... Look at my EDL and my marriage certificate.
"do you have your birth certificate?. I'm looking at the master record, the one made back when you were born in Alaska, and this is your middle name"
*sigh... goes home.. gets birth cert. to bring back*

CLOSED.
They CLOSED!!!! WTF!!!!
*sigh*
So the the Social Security card I have had all my life has been for the wrong person. I different "me" but not me. Even though I have had aaaaaalll other documentation from the gov that is all correct and matches my birth certificate.. uuuuugh.

That's my vent.

I don't know why she's acting like that, they haven't talked since Erik stuck up for me when she asked if the reason for a march wedding was because I was pregnant. Who knows what's going on.they aren't really close or anything but... He was just trying to catch up.

my night has been okay. We had RCIA class tonight and now I'm just studying for my Cisco certification test.

FTL, that's why I'm dreading changing my name again. Secret confession: I never changed my SS card when I married XH. I just never got around to it then I was filing for divorce so I didn't bother at that point. FI doesn't understand how much work goes into changing my name. Every system at work you have to log in-with your correct name. I can think of nearly 15 things I'm going to have to update/change, and that's just off the top of my head. Some of them haven't even been fixed from XH's last name back to my maiden name and that's been forever. Ok, name change rant over. For now.

You havent?!! uhh.. That one is a little important.. And I don't know if you can go now.. There is a specific time limit I believe, so you may have to go to court and get a court order to allow you now. I'm not sure exactly... But the SS office was really pretty easy. It's not like the DMV, and they were all very friendly, just... whoever filled out the paperwork when I was a baby was clearly an idiot to screw my name up on such a freakin' IMPORTANT DOCUMENT!!! GAH!!! >_<

I'm dreading the college more than anything. They always screw stuff up at my U, and it's awful.. being so close to graduation, it worries me

I'm so sorry that everything was a rough, FTL. I hope it gets a lot easier!

AMH, I totally fly off the handle when people are rude/insult my FI. I can handle almost anything calmly, but that one is tricky to take without getting mad.

I finished my FI's birthday package. It may be the last one I can send him before he comes back!!! YAY! I made 4 cake in a jars (I tried to do a neon rainbow effect, but it looks a little muddy from the outside. The inside is so colorful it looks like the liquified remains of a Dr. Seuss character), some instant coffee from Starbucks, and a "Homecoming Kit". I filled the homecoming kit with things like breath mints with a note that says "for a fresh first kiss!", lotion (for a soft embrace), pain reliever (for headache-free traveling), etc... it was a last minute inspiration and it turned out pretty well!

Otherwise, I worked out, ate too much sugar, and didn't get any papers done (drat). Decent day, but not super productive.

I am just annoyed.

I am on the exec board for my business fraternity and I am just SMH at the way it is going. We used to be THE TOP chapter in the country. Last year we didn't even get accredited because people forgot to turn in their stuff.. and most of exec doesn't even care, I don't think they realize how close we are go having our charter pulled...

I complained to FI for about an hour about it (he is back..yay!)...that and other stuff.. like how everything just seems to be going to shi-t lately. I don't want to talk about too much personal stuff...but I really need positive vibes about life in general.

And I have had 4 light bulbs go out within a week. This is annoying. What happened to those new light bulbs lasting for years and years...yea right..

FTL- sorry about all of that. I hate those places Social Security Office and the DMV. When I changed my name the Social Security Office it wasn't so bad but I hated the DMV.

Since I work with international students, I have to go to the Social Security Office and the DMV like 10 per semester. It is the worst thing ever!!!

Today- ANNOYED! I ripped into a collections person that is calling for some kid that I have never heard of. I have told them each time they call I don't know him and do not call my number again. Well this morning wast the last straw. I am just a few minutes into my diet coke so it was not a good time to call me. So when the woman called, I ripped her a new one. She said this was her first time calling this number and I didn't need to be rude. Well my response was your company have called me once/twice a week for the past month and 1/2 and I have told your company that I don't know this person. She hung up on me. So now I am twice as annoyed.

I mean do they not have a way to look at a screen and put in wrong number?!?

As for people upsetting FI. I can relate. Unfortunately its FMIL that seems to give him the hardest time of all. I think because he's her only child and she's very protective. I love her, she means well but... she still tries to treat him like he doesn't know how to take care of himself.

Now we've been having issues with his 14 year old little sister who claims that he never wants to spend time with her because he's always with me. Which is far from true! He calls her and asks her if he can take her to the movies or to lunch or when her games are at school and she blows him off completely. More than half the time I swear I'm the one saying "Chance you need to call Shelbi.." blah blah blah. Grrr! I swear it all started when FI and I got into an argument (like normal couples do, I mean this wasn't relationship changing serious stuff) and she happened to be with him when it happened. Next thing I know she ignored me, wouldn't talk to me and even went the full extent of blocking me on facebook. WTH.

Wow, hugs to you all! Believe it or not, I'm not in a complaining mood today. Okay, things haven't been perfect the last few days, but I'm just not feeling whiny today for the first time in awhile. It's a nice change. I'll send you all those vibes!

Anne, you know I'm right there with you. It's not just anyone being mean to our FIs - it's their FAMILIES! And that's just... completely unacceptable, in my opinion. I mean, I'm spoiled rotten with the family I've got, even though everyone has their faults I think I hit the parents-and-sibling jackpot (and his girlfriend rocks, too). So it just boils my blood when someone treats their family with such a lack of basic respect and family bond. Sorry for your FI!

If you have a Sephora near you, you can get it there, also I know that my BFF can get it at her PX for I believe $32.99, so maybe you can get it at the NEX? Annnd here's the link (<a href="http://www.philosophy.com/skin-care/skincare-collection/skincare-hope">Clicky</a>) It's a little bit pricey, but it's TOTALLY worth it. I use it twice a day (until I start running low, then I cut down to once till I get some more). Seriously, I swear by it!!

ETA:Also, they have a face wash called "Purity" (<a href="http://www.philosophy.com/skin-care/skincare-collection/skincare-purity">Clicky</a>) that H and I both use. It's really good too! When I first used it I felt like my face wasn't getting very clean, but it really does, it's just super gentle so your skin doesn't feel really dry and stripped of any natural oils afterwards. I've used the "On a Clear Day" line for a breakout also, and it's really good (<a href="http://www.philosophy.com/skin-care/skincare-collection/skincare-oacd">Clicky</a>). I would recommend the starter kit ($35) to see if you like it. At the Sephora I used to work at, we had mini bottles of purity and OACD, so you could get one or the other to see which one works best for your skin. I don't break out all that often, usually just when I'm about to start my period, so I generally just stick with the purity cleanser for everyday and then I use a retinol treatment (<a href="http://www.philosophy.com/skincare-anceandblemishes/on-a-clear-day-retinol-clarifying-lotion-product">Clicky</a>) when I do breakout.

Clearly, I'm mildly obsessed with Philosophy products, but they are great products. I have super sensitive skin due to my sun allergy, and these are the best products I've ever used.
