Flowers

What are the going rates these days? Who did you choose? Did you have an idea of what you wanted or did the florist give flower suggestions?

Um... there is no "going rate".  It really all depends on the flowers you want, the time of year etc etc.

I spent somewhere areound 2300 I think. I had very simple flowers. and only 100 guest. I wish I would have spent more because my bridesmaids bouquets were horrible.

I had an idea on what flowers I wanted and my florist had input if something couldn't be done.

I agree with Janie it really depends on the flowers and the season they are in for bouquets, bouts, centerpieces, altar arrangements, etc.

Bride's bouquets I found start at $150 and go up from there. I wished I would have spent more on my bm's bouquets because they were not all that great either.

I just did bridal party and family and I spent around $1000

STBMrs- did you not do centerpieces??

I met my first florist monday. with just roses and hydrangeas it was going to be $1600! for centerpieces on 10 tables and 4 boquets, 5 corsages. :(

Agree with PP that it depends on flowers and season. Orchids and peonies were some of the pricier flowers I came across.

I am spending about $150 on my bouquet, $35 per bridesmaid, $65-125 on centerpieces depending on height and complexity and $7 per bouttonniere.

I have a general idea of what I want and my florist has put in her input on several of my ideas. I don't get married until October so I can't comment on how it will turn out.

I am using Flower Corner on Holcombe near Kirby.  She is charging me $1500 for 4 corsages, 4 boutonnieres, 9 table center pieces, a flower arch, one bridesmaid bouquet, my bouquet, and 2 flower wreaths for my flower girls' hair.  She is using peonies, hydrangea, orchids and stephanotis.  I think she is super reasonable, and several people I know have used her before.  Her name is Lisa.  She asked me a few questions about my colors and whatnot, and put everything together from there.  I will let you know how it turns out after April 3rd. :)

I did my own centerpieces. 1/2 were manzanita branches & 1/2 were white fresh hydrangeas. Very simple. I couldn't get myself to spend $50 per table when I had about 10 tables. :-)

Flowers are crazy expensive, but so beautiful and brings everything together.
