Name change

Hello,

I will be taking my FI last name. I know this is a legal question, but it's worth a shot. I've never been comfortable with my name. I've gone by a short version of my name since I was little.

So, can I request a first name change along with my last name change? Or should I have done that before the wedding. I don't know if I still have enough time. I get married in a month.

I think you can change it all at once. I changed both my middle and my last name at the same time.

You should call the social security office to make sure, though.

I would definitely call. If you can do it, there's not point in trekking all the way to the SS office twice. That would be silly.
