Potted plants in May

We are planning on doing potted plants as our centerpieces. I've been thinking about succulents, but am wondering if any plant people might be able to recommend greenery or white flowers that would work well in May. Also, if you know where to get potted plants in bulk. I'd be planting them the week before the wedding so they wouldn't need to last too long necessarily. Thanks!

I spoke to my florist about using a few potted plants as centerpeices for my longer tables. My wedding is in May too and this is from the email she sent: "This greatly cuts down on cost for those items, and the living plant idea is always a hit. In the spring a good selection of potted mums becomes available in white and yellow and the plants are usually very well filled out so it's not a sparse flowering arrangement. Mums are fantastic because they are hardy and can easily go both elegant or rustic depending on how they are dressed up. Hydrangeas en masse are always a good idea because of the size of the blooms versus the cost." As far as where to purchase, we discussed it in person and I think she suggested purchasing from Sam's or Home Depot... I'm not sure on that though. For some reason those two places stuck out in my mind.

We are doing succulent centerpieces, I found my inspiration and a DIY guide here (below), maybe it will give you some ideas too.  This guide shows how you can use a few succulents and do cuttings to make several centerpieces.  Succulents are very hardy so I am hoping they'll be a good goof-proof bet. http://alovelymorning.blogspot.com/2009/01/our-wedding-diy-succulent-centerpieces.html
