Forest location in Washington State???

I am planning a small (approx 50) rustic wedding this fall. I am hoping to find an inexpensive place to be married in the woods (Washington State) with some kind of simple-but-nice reception area nearby. I have spent HOURS looking, but am not having much success.

Do you know of a place? Maybe a vacation rental house or lodge that you might reccomend?
I am from the Seattle area, but we are looking at both sides of the mts.
 Thank you!

Re: Forest location in Washington State???

  • I've been to Lake Quinault Lodgeand Kalaloch Lodge.

Lake Quinault had a wedding while I was there and had an incredible lake. I looked up Kalaloch and they stressed that it was rustic and for smaller weddings on their website.

I've also been up to the San Juan islands a few times and there are quite a few wedding spots on the different islands. Check out: VisitSanJuans.com. I mulled around the idea of renting a large house and getting married in the backyard. There were a ton of options on vbro and some even said they are fine with weddings.

I almost feel like it's easier to pick a woodsy ceremony spot than it is to decide on a reception. Maybe you could find a few reception sites you love and then get recomendations for trees or parks nearby?

  • I just found a pdf for 3 lodges, http://www.olympicnationalparks.com/media/27376/weddingpack2010.pdf

At least it's a starting point? Smile
