Hi Ladies:

I know this question is asked all the time, however I did not feel like digging through all the old posts. =)

My wedding date is 5.6.11, when should invitations be sent out or how far out in advance did you send yours?

    Rule of thumb is 8 weeks prior...I'm getting married 5.7.11 .... I asked for all responses to be returned to me by 4.5.11.....

    I'll be sending my invitations out on Feb 5th...(it would've been my mom's bday) still and all it's 8wks out.

    I say send them out on 3/6/11...response by 4/6/11.

    Mine are going out Jan 25 for a March 25 wedding.

    We mailed ours April 5 (the day after Easter) for a June 5 wedding.

    RSVP's were due May 8.


    Definitely mail yours anytime the first week in March.

    And have your response as either 4/6/11 (one month) OR Friday, April 8. (4 weeks)

    Invites should go out 6-8 weeks before the WEDDING, not the rsvp date.

    To clarify..... I'm correct in what I put up above- yes invitations should go out 6-8 wks before the WEDDING. I put the exact date that I was sending mine out which is exactly 8wks prior to my wedding and not the RSVP. My wedding is 5.7.11 - invites are going out 2.5.11

    No, that's<strong> 13 </strong>weeks. It's 3+ months.

    I totally agree with the posts above!  I also think that if your guests are traveling a far distance you may want to send them out a little sooner then later.  Good luck!
