Flower Farms?

I would like to do the centerpieces for the wedding myself and am hoping to be able to work directly with a farm or nursery to purchase the flowers.   Can anyone recommend any good farms or nurseries in the Baltimore Metro area?  Preferrably organic or sustainable farms, but not necessarily.  Thanks for your help! Jen

Jen, looks like you have a June wedding so you should be okay. Lots of the vendors at the Farmer's Markets sell flowers. One place I contacted was Dragonfly Farms (http://dffarms.com/market.aspx). They were super nice but couldn't supply enough for my April wedding. Should be okay by June, I bet.

If you decide not to do it yourself, Local Color Flowers is a florist that uses all local flowers. That's what we decided to do, and Ellen has been great to work with.

Thanks for your help!  Good luck with your wedding...it's getting close! I did check out Dragonfly farms and early June is actually too early for many flowers in Maryland.  However, I contacted Betty's Gardens who will do some wholesale and some bouquets for us.  Should be a good mix of local and sem-local (within the tri-state area).  Thanks again! Jen
