wedding shower

My FMIL wants to throw me a wedding shower.  I suppose its family tradition to have a mixed gender shower instead of just females.  While trying to find a venue to host around 75 people, we have arrived at a wall.  We were aiming for Nov 6th but places are either booked or you have to pay per plate.

Although I will not be paying for it, I dont want the mothers to pay a ridiculous amount of money.  Nobody's house is big enough.  Does anyone know of a place that would host as many people where we could bring our own food and byob?

Ask your friends if any of them happen to live in apartment complexes, that may have clubrooms to rent out. You may just even call a couple to see if they will let you rent them out without being a renter there. You never know, and some of them rent for like  75-150 a night... and they have kitchens built in already.

You may also want to check hotels/lodging places.  I was looking at some lodges on the river in New Braunfels and was suprised that they had a nice room with a kitchen area as well.

You might want to check with Fralo's. It's an Italian restaurant specializing in phenomenal pizza! My cousin had her rehearsal dinner there and it was so much fun, plus its BYOB! During the chillier months they set up tents outside for larger parties. I know it was very affordable for her. I believe they also have live music on the weekends.

    Hope this helps!
