Photography Times

Just wanted to ask you ladies a question about what time you had your photographer arrive to get your getting ready pictures.  I need to be ready by 3:45pm so I can get to Lamberts Castle and finish pictures before sunset (4:38pm) i was thinking if I had my photographer arrive at 2pm that is 1.5 hours of getting ready pictures. Is that too much time you think?? Should I do 2:30? I figure at 2 I will just be getting my hair done or be in the middle of makeup. I mean how many of these pictures do I really need?

Typically they arrive when you are ready from the neck up (hair&makeup).  Unless you want pictures of that stuff too, then they come earlier.

This is something you should work out with your photographer.  They will know how much time they need, so it's better to tell them what you want and let them work out the timeline, rather than you tell them when to come and have them work in the window you allowed for them.

Also, I have been doing portrait shoots at Lambert Castle, and unless they are bringing portable lighting, the good light runs out by 4:30ish...probably earlier in another 2 weeks or if it's real overcast that day.  The castle is shielded from the setting sun by trees so you don't get any direct lighting as sunset approaches.

I don't know about photo times, but we did our engagement pictures at Lambert Castle..it was beautiful there..I'd give yourself 2 hours, we took about that long for about 500 pictures.

500 pictures in 120 minutes is crazy, that is a picture every 15 seconds!

Its just a private reveal at the castle. I wont be taking 500 pictures I can guarantee you that.  Just a few.

I'm still a bit in the future so we still have to pick an actual time, but our photographer said he usually comes between 90 minutes to two hours prior to leaving for the ceremony.
