Brides Against Breast Cancer

I was wondering if anyone went to the one last year and what they thought?  Is there a good selection?  Is buying the VIP ticket worth it?  Are they larger sizes: 14, 16 , 18?

I'm planning to go to the one in Febuary in Raleigh.

Thanks, Happy Friday :)

I went when they came through Austin this year and I was not very impressed with the selection (or the state that the dresses were in, and really, their prices weren't much better than you can get if you shop around much).  But I do realize it's for a good cause.

They did have a great range of sizes and a lot of dresses available in all sizes.  Everyone was very nice but be ready to change in front of whoever.  You do go behind a curtain but once you're back there, you change in front of whoever is trying dresses on.  I went without the VIP tickets on the first day of the sale and it didn't look like anything was very picked over!

    Just my two cents!

I bought my dress at the BABC sale last February in Raleigh.  Photos in my bio.

I went the last day they were here, and had a different experience from what Amanda had in Texas.  I thought there was a pretty large selection, I was able to try on about 15 dresses in my size that I liked (and there were many more that I skipped trying).  I paid less than $600.  Olga called it a "high quality" satin and admired its hand beading.

There were many dresses in all sizes.  I don't think buying the VIP tickets would be worth it.  I also bought my veil there because it matched the dress perfectly.

I wore a strapless slip/slimmer type thing so I wouldn't feel so naked when changing, it was pretty open, but people were respectful.  Bring a friend to help you get into and out of the dresses.

Thanks for the input!  As far as bringing friends, I was planning to bring my 3 bridesmaids and my Mom.  You think too many for such a hectic event?

Mary, I actually saw your dress on your bio yesterday, which made me think to ask!  Very beautiful, I really love the detailing on the bodice!

I would say it's not particularly worth paying the VIP cost but I did it because I was scheduled to work when they came to Charlotte in February.  I found a great dress but unfortunately it wasn't the one for me.  They do have a bigger store in SC, you could always go there if you wanted to make a trip =)

Enclosed is a picture of my dress.
