Rehearsal Dinner...

Finally back-- after buying a house and concentrating on my spring semester...wedding planning and the knot kind of went on the back burner...

Now that we are a year away, we're starting to think about where to have our rehearsal dinner. Our first thought was Dinosaur BBQ, because it is delicious and not very traditional...but they are booked the night before our wedding...
Where are you having (or did you have) your rehearsal dinner?

Reviews would be great!!

We did aa casual cookout at the cottage at Glenora vineyard.  We invited all of out OOT guests.  It was a lot of fun and a great way to acually spend with time our friends and family (because on the day of, I barely got to talk to anyone).... we picked up a bunch of burgers and hot dogs, salads and sides from Sam's Club and did the cooking ourselves.  Some of our guests even took turns on the grill.  It was a lot of fun!!!

I would have picked Dino too, but it was also booked the day we needed it.  You could always find a different location and have them cater it.  Part of me wishes we would have done this so I would have been a little less crazy and had a little more time with everyone, but Glenora is about 90 min away from Dino so that wasn't happening.

What type of vibe are you going for?  how many people and what budget??  What area?   PJ Dorseys in Armory Square has a really nice private dining room with a fireplace, but they are on the pricier side.  Same with Empire Brewing Co.

We originally wanted to do a backyard BBQ b/c thats simply who we are, but FIL offered to pay for it and SMIL said she wanted it to be a little nicer and so we let her run with it.

We had ours at Borios. The room was a pretty good size (more than we needed for 30 people). It had a beautiful view of the lake. The food was delicious but FIL was a bit angry b/c he left the rehearsal a bit early to make sure someone was there by 5 and at 615 the waitress came over and asked him when we wanted to eat. 'Uh....like an hr ago. So now.' Other than that the food was great.

We dont have a set number in mind for the budget--we just want it to be reasonable. We wanted dino bbq because its not traditional--we figure were going to have a lot of italian-type food the next day at the reception...We would like to be in the Bville, cicero, clay and city area...I also emailed Ichiban..we LOVE it there..but I know they are going to be expensive...

Do you know anyone who lives in Radisson in B'Ville? Radisson's Aspen house is very nice! I just had my shower there last weekend. It's very clean, plenty of space, has a kitchen you can use, small room with a fireplace, restrooms. We got our own food from BJ's and Wegmans, but you could have Dino or someone cater it.

We r doing Phoebes. The food is awesome- a little pricey but they've giving us the whole place as in shutting down for the night ! I like the laid back yet sophisticated feel so it is perfect

If you have more than 50 people in the summer then they will shut it down for you. It isn't their busy time so they are really flexible. I love that it's going to feel like they are at a restaurant all to our own. We have a very large rehersal dinner by the way. Bridal party, readers, and all family on both sides!!!! Aunts uncles cousins etc! Fiancées parents insisted even though id prefer smaller . Since post people are traveling from Baltimore they wanted to host something Friday. We are inviting all guests to come cocktails there after as well. I almost feel like it is two weddings but there was no budging and since they are paying..... If you can't beat em' join em'!!

Wow! That sounds awesome. We are only having about 35 people, so I doubt they would shut it down for that. Worth trying though ;)
