Having kids vs. not having them

What are your feelings on having kids, and why? Basically I would like to know why you do/did want kids or don't want kids. 

I am not sure that I ever want them, but I would love to hear other people's perspectives on this.

    [QUOTE]I could go either way on having kids.  I don't always love being around kids, and I'm downright dreading having to deal with teenagers in the future.   However, my FI really wants to have kids.  That makes me want to have kids.   I wouldn't mind not having them though and be able to up and go whenever we want.
