Am I being ultra sensitive?

So tomorrow is my deadline date for my wedding invitation responses.
I have a count of 12 due back from my FI's family and friends and 11 due back from my family & friends.  Some of which have completely pissed me off since a lot of my FI's immediate family have not responded and 6 immediate family members of mine have not responded. 

My issue is I have to get my table togethers in order to have my favors done in conjunction with our escort cards. Not sure if anyone remembers but I'm combining the 2.  Anyway I've got to get this list to the choclatier the beginning of next week and I have 25 outstanding responses due back by tomorrow.
Did this happen to anyone else? Why do I feel like its an exorbitant amount?

It's really disconcerting when your own immediate family can't seem to find it in their hearts to respond sooner rather then later!

I'm a little bummed over it. Frown

    I just went through this with a handful of people. Give them until say thurs-fri to see if their RSVPs come in (some may have just sent them so they may take a couple of days). Whoever you don't hear from call so you have all your info this weekend. HTH

    My suggestion is, because of your favor issue, to get on the phone this weekend...you and FI.  Don't be confrontational like "where the hell was your response?"...because we all would like to ....but just explain that it affects some other issues and you need to give a count on Monday.  This gives them a few extra days this week for straggler mail

    And yes, I think everyone has this happen to them.  I had a bunch probably at least 10, I just don't remember.  I had several that came in the day later, I had some that said that they had sent it...for those I just thanked them and said sorry.  It was obviously in the mail.  I also made my RSVP date a week prior to the date I needed the count for this reason.

    I had a lot not back also, I gave myself a full 2 weeks after RSVP date to when I needed the final # because I knew every brides faces this. Not that it means its acceptable, but yes we all go through it so try not to let it bother you long. I think H was more offended then I was! Let your Fi tackle his side and you do your's.  GL!

    Call them. It happened to me too and it was my aunt, cousins and uncles who didn't mail them.

    This happens to everyone. Remember this: Your wedding isn't as important to anyone else in this world as it is to you and your FI. People get busy, some people are just awful in general about these things. Give it a few days, then call everyone you haven't heard from this weekend and ask if they'll be attending or not. Just don't take it personally.

    This happens to everyone.  I had 27 Response cards (54 people) not respond. We had to call them all.

    Hand FI his list and you take yours and call.  My favorite response was 'oh, I liked the card so I wanted to keep it"  REALLY????

    Thank you all so much. I feel much better. Yep my intention was to begin the calls this weekend. It's really ridiculous that everyone has gone thru this. How hard is it to put your friggin name and a check mark and pop it in the mail?  I just don't get people sometimes!

    Awesome!

    It really amazes me that people can't get rsvp's back into the mail. It's so simple. Either you're going or you're not - just check the box and mail the darn thing.

    I totally agree!  How hard is it...you know if you are going or not pretty much when you get it.  I had people do this to my BMs for my shower too...and one of the non-responders was the girlfriend of the Best Man!  What the heck....i guess she just assumed they knew she was coming?????

    Well it's good to know it's not just me. You try not to take it personal but it's hard.
    I have told my FI - that we need to gather numbers and start making calls this weekend...the mere fact that I have to even do this with everything else I'm doing infuriates me to no end.  Oh well it is what it is. 

    33 days and counting and soon it will be allllllllll over!
