I posted this in the WTF but wanted you to see this:

Meagan, OMG. Years ago I went on a walk with my samoyed and my friend's pug. A collie attacked both of the dogs and bit the pug's tail. The pug's tail went limp and didn't move for a while. Took her to the vet, but the pug eventually regained movement in her tail. They say it was just a shock. I truly hope it'll be the same for your dog. But OMG that's terrible. Poor dog! 

Also wanted to see how your little dog is doing today? Any better?? Thinking of the dog today!

    I don't know if this is going to show up. I think it's because I'm on the west coast so the time thing is jacked up. But ANYWAY. 

    That's good to know mekiakoo, I'm hoping it comes back up. Still no tail movement today, and she just seems miserable, won't even walk up the stairs. The vet said there are nerves in the tail connected to the spinal cord and she most likely separated the tail from the spinal cord. Or something like that. She said we'll see some improvement in the tail over the next 6 months but 90% will be over the first 48 hours. FI and I are thinking the tail is permanently down. BUT it's not dragging so it won't need to be amputated. My FI wants to take her to the groomer to get all the hair shaved off her tail because she used to get poop stuck in her fur before all this happened, and we're thinking it'll just get worse :-/

    Nooooooooo poor fuzzy little tail   :(

    My black lab had to have the top of his tail amputated when he sliced it on something during our last move.  It was the most bloody horrific nightmare for like a month straight (try to get a lab to stop wagging his tail....).  Fortunately for us, it didn't effect his excessive lab tail wagginess... so I can't even imagine going through what you guys are dealing with now.
