Outdoor wedding venue suggestions

Does anyone have suggestions for a wedding venue with outdoor space? We live in Chicago, and the dream wedding was on the beach here; however my grandma (99 years old) can't travel, so we are moving the wedding to Columbus. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

We were considering the Alumni Club at The Ohio State University.  It overlooks Mirror Lake that has an outdoor amphitheatre on the one side.  Since our wedding is in November, we just couldn't take the risk with the weather (it'll probably be cold AND rainy).  Good luck!

It's actually the Faculty Club on OSU's campus, but alumni club was close Monty! lol.

I am having my wedding here next month actually. We are having our ceremony at the amphitheater.

i would check out some of the country clubs in and just outside columbus. some of them have BEAUTIFUL grounds with awesome water features.
you should also check out creekside conference and event center. it's in an adorable neighborhood and they really seem to have their sh!t together.

We liked Bryn Du Mansion. We were considering them, but decided to go with Autumn Lakes in Sunbury.

not sure what kind of feel you're looking for but you could also look at North Bank Park or Smith Brothers Loft. Both have outdoor spaces where you could have a ceremony.

Just a warning about Creekside Conference Center...they didn't seem to have their stuff together when I went there. I made an appointment several weeks in advance and when we got there, they told us we couldn't see the ballroom because they were having several meetings that took up almost the entire ballroom. My whole annoyance was, why didn't they tell me and I could have scheduled it for a different day when there was nothing going on! Plus, the outside area didn't seem very private because there are a lot of shops directly around that area, so while it's a cute neighborhood, if you want a private party, it may not be very private, and it's a LOT of concrete! =) Just a head's up about my experience.

You guys are awesome! Does anyone have any experience with the Franklin Park Conservatory? It looks like they have a nice outdoor space and the indoor space is outdoorsy/tropical too.

The only experience I have is from attending a wedding there last September. It is a gorgeous place. There were only a couple of complaints I had with the entire place. It can be a little confusing knowing where to go, so if you go with Franklin Park Conservatory, make some cute signs to point people in the right direction, because the place is huge and can have several events going on at once, so it can be confusing as a guest coming from the large parking lot and knowing where to go. Also, the room where the reception was held for the wedding we attended last year was sort of in a U shape. It was pretty, but once the WP entered and took their seats, we couldn't see anything because we were at one end of the U and everything was happening on the other end. Lastly, my only other complaint was that we couldn't hear anything during the ceremony. That may have been the couple's fault if they opted for no mic, but there was a light breeze and we couldn't hear the vows, the music or anything, so I'd definitely suggest going with a mic of some sort so people can hear! Other than that, the whole place is gorgeous and has tons of flowers. =) Good luck planning!

My guy and I are renting a lodge at one of the Metro Parks. They are great for small weddings. The one we're looking at has a deck and overlooks a creek. The lodge itself has a 72 person capacity, kitchen, and supplies tables and chairs.
