Re: Inspiration Mondays

This Sunday the Pastor of the church I go to asked what I wanted the church to pray for for my wedding this Saturday, and you know what...there wasn't anything I needed to ask God, but rather THANK HIM for all of the blessings he has bestowed on my fiance and I.  We have been showered with so much love and support, it's been overwhelming.

I'm not going to pray for a sunny day, God knows every bride wants that.  I just wanted God to know that we are thankful for the love he has given us.

oh that is sooo wonderful! (: Its so great to be in a heart of praise and thanksgiving. (:

my inspiration starts out in a little bit of sadness. here goes:
There is a married couple who will be married for 11 yrs this weekend. Last week they got into a HUGE fight and the wife even left the house for 2 days. There was so much arguing and even doubting the marriage. Both are devout Christians and Holy Spirit lovers. This caused a little bit of doubt and fear in my upcoming marriage. The devil started putting lies into my head about marriage and family. I had to fight it off and broke down into tears one night.
The wife eventually humbled herself (after 3 days of nonstop fighting) and called the husband and they talked it through until late late in the night. The next morning, she came home and they talked some more..and although i do not know all that was said she said that there was soo much glory! They talked about issues that were never dealt with and discussed how they want to change in their marriage.
NOW they are constantly affectionate towards eachother giving each other hugs and kisses when they think no one is looking (or even if we are! lol). They are planning a romantic getaway for this weekend to celebrate their anniversary.

it just inspired me to see how fast it can go from being upset to going back to that honeymoon feeling. I always thought that me and my FH wouldnt fight...but i know that is not realistic. To see a real married couple fighting and then bouncing back (with the help of the Holy Spirit) it just completely inspired me! Me and my FI can get through anything! we are unstoppable!!!

I was having a bad day today and was worried and upset about some things and suddenly the line, "cast all your cares on Him, for He cares for you" from the song Healing Hand of God by Jeremy Camp popped into my head. I listened to the song 2 or 3 times on the way home and prayed and it inspired me so much! God is so good and, no matter what happens in life, He is with us. It's all a part of His wonderful plan!

So, I realize it's not Monday anymore, but late last night I was reading a friend's blog because she posted the link on Facebook and I started crying.

She and her husband were in a terrible accident last January. He overcorrected and they hit a tree. The tree fell down on top of the car and pinned her husband to the steering wheel inside the car. My friend was okay for the most part. She need stitches, etc. But her husband almost died. He was in a coma for six months following the accident and has been diagnosed with Traumatic Brain Injury since then. He has some memory (like he remembers that he was in the Army and that my friend is his wife) but there's a lot he doesn't remember.

Last month, they were finally able to leave the hospital after over a year of being there. They came home and were welcomed with open arms. My friend had to go back to Seattle for some appointments where she found out that her husband now has a benign tumor that is growing and endangering his optic nerve. He's going to need radiation.

The inspiring thing about all of this was a prayer she included from her husband, "Cale’s (her husband) prayer started like this, 'Dear God, I was hurt in a car accident a long time ago. I want to be all better.' After telling God about how he was sad that he had been hurt and how he wanted to go home (…even though we are home), he ended his prayer with, 'I love you though God.'"

    Sooo inspiring.

I didn't want to quote the whole thing since it was so long, but I  wanted to say that I am praying for your friend, and that if he wants anyone to talk to about what he is going through something very similar happened to my FI. He was in an accident when he was 16, and the tumor was removed 7 years ago. After chemo and radiation the tumor hasn't grown back. Lots of thoughts and prayers their way for a happy ending!
I am so happy to hear that his faith is strong through all of this.
