I live in Harford County and am looking for a reasonably priced cake.

Thank you!!

I am getting married in Frederick but I'm having my cake made by Fluffy Thoughts Cakes in McLean, VA. Lara was actually reasonably priced despite having been featured on the Today Show and also a recent contender on the Food Network Challenge. I highly recommend at least scheduling a tasting with her. You will not be disappointed.

Check out Yia Yia's Bakery on Philadelphia Road. They have a pretty good selection and it is who we are going with. We are having their Hazelnut cake with choc amaretto filling! Talk about DELISH!

    i second yia yias.

My caterer actually provides a free cake from yia yias....but i have used yia yias for many specialty cakes and not only are they absolutely delicious and fresh but their prices are awesome compared to other places in the area.

We're going with Mary Elliott from Timonium.  You can email/call her for details, but she's making a small cake for 20 people for us for $50!

Kathy with Simply Desserts is great. It's a small company she runs out of her house in Columbia, but I prefer that because I felt much more appreciated and listened to than at the large bakery we also considered. Her cakes taste fabulous, there are a million different flavor combinations, and Kathy is super nice. She's even making some vegan cupcakes for my maid of honor. Here's her website: http://www.simplydesserts.net/

<div>What did you think of Cakes Plus? </div><div>
</div><div>We went there for a tasting too and did not have a good experience. Their website says they do tastings on Saturdays with no appointment necessary but I called and made one anyway for a Saturday at noon. We got there at noon and there was no room at the table for our tasting so they gave us a plate of cake and we stood in the back of the store to taste it all. Not once did anyone come up to talk to us, so we finished our cake and left.</div><div>
</div><div>We decided to go with Touche Touchet which is a small bakery in Columbia. They have delicious cake and are MUCH more customer friendly :)</div>

Our caterer is Hunt Valley Catering and the package we picked includes the wedding cake from Yia-Yia's.  It was a great package (they fondly referred to it as their "Tiffany's" package because it's their best).  It includes served & stationary apps for the first hour, a great meal, champagne toast for everyone, full bar, and wedding cake - all for $55pp!

They're reputable because they do the majority of the catering at Gramercy Mansion (where we're having it).  If you're interested, you can email me at <a href="mailto:swelchphr@yahoo.com">swelchphr@yahoo.com</a> and I can share the menu with you.
