Weight Vent

I am so upset, i've been on WW since May of last year, I had lost almost 30 pounds and then stuff at work happened and i'm a huge stress eater. Now i've gained almost all of it back. It is so frusterating. I really have to stop these bad eating habits and stop letting work and people at work get to me.

Sorry just had to vent a little.

Re: Weight Vent

  • No need to apologize!  Time to refocus and find other stress relievers.  I stepped on the WII fitness scale last night after 88 days, and had gained 15 pounds.  If only we could lose the weight as quickly as it was gained!  Hugs!

Thanks! I wish we could lose it as quickly as it was gained, I just keep telling myself that there is still time. I really need to find other ways to relieve stress.

  • I've done this too. Last summer I got down to my near ideal weight, then, like you describe, stress happens, and suddenly I'm right back where I started.  What you've done before though, you can do again!

Thanks! I needed to hear that! I did it once and I can do it again!

  • You can definitely do it again!  And unfortunately you (and I) have had the painful reminder of how cautious we need to be about food intake and activity levels.  We all make "mistakes" and we just need to be able to learn from them :)

  • Don't get discouraged.... what goes up must come down right.... you can do it.

Try keeping red licorice at your desk at work.  I know it helped me with the stress aspect, and my teeth got tired before I ate too much.

Yes! This! I keep something crunchy on me for when I'm stressed, so I snack on that. My jaw gets tired quickly (I really don't know why), so I don't eat too much of the snack.

  • I like getting salt and vinnegar chips because I can't eat more than a couple. They taste good but they hurt my mouth when I eat too much!

Also, I've found the site myfitnesspal.com to be very very helpful, it makes me painfully aware of how much I eat and because of the awareness I've really started to control my food intake for the better :)

I need to join this I think. I've heard that it's a great site from multiple people.

  • I did WW last year and lost 40 pounds.  I have of course gained all but 10 pounds back.  I am getting married in 7 months and hope to lose weight.  You can't beat yourself up about it.  You have to take it and move on.  I have to keep myself motivated.
